On September 1, Persephone Grosvenor takes her daughter to visit Cináed Tawse. And then Ava Grosvenor returns to Hogwarts under a strong Imperius Spell. The events that proceed are curious, dangerous, and ultimately lead to the young witch's murder.

Persephone Grosvenor leads her unsuspecting daughter Ava Grosvenor down Knockturn Alley and into the trap of notorious ex-Azzi Cináed Tawse. The adults try to convince her to do right by her blood purity, but when all else fails, Cináed is forced to commit the crime of casting the Imperius Curse upon her to gain entry to his biggest weapon yet; Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The Importance of Being Pure

The smile faded quickly and Cináed looked, briefly, towards Persephone. Of course, it felt somewhat strange to be strong arming the daughter of such a respectable and fantastic woman in front of him. At the same time it was oddly exciting and satisfying. But, Persephone had offered her daughter to him and her cold detachment seemed to continue to confirm that she was relinquishing control. Of her offspring. To him. It was a shame the girl couldn't have amounted to better. Cináed's attention returned to Ava and he sighed. "I require complete and unquestioning submission. Ava Grosvenor, under the Imperius Curse, allows Cináed Tawse into Hogwarts and leads him down to Slytherin Dungeons. In a scene reminiscent of a fireside chat, Cináed opens a discussion with the Slytherin, offering what he believes is a balanced opinion on the soft, muggle-loving education Hogwarts offers.

The Daily Prophet has arrived with claims about Sasha and Ava's families. Sasha, uncharacteristically, skips the whole day of classes ahead of the Halloween events that evening. Ava approaches Sasha. She invites him to attend the dance with her. A mixed up, teenage Sasha, kisses Ava.

Ava and Sasha head to the woods for what is to be Ava's last moments. Their empty beds lead Professors Storm and Trishna to begin a search. They discover Sasha cradling Ava's dead body in the cold.

You'll understand someday." He grabbed hold of her arm and began to pull her, and in that instant something in her snapped. Running on a bunch of caffeine and a hot tip from a leak at Level Two, Niobe Thursby comes by Signature early in the morning to have a word with Finn Grosvenor. A name had come up associated with Sasha Schlagenweit and a ton of Aurors, so she thought she'd grill Finn if he knew anything about an Ava Grosvenor. He reveals to her that Ava is his younger sister and that she'd been murdered the night before.
