She had never wanted to become an overprotective mother, and she still tried not to be in a lot of the small ways (not feeding too much sugar to a two-year old wasn't over protective, after all, it was practical!), but in all the ways that really counted, she knew she was. And somewhere deep inside she couldn't help but wonder, even if the murderer of Robin's biological mother had been caught and brought to justice, put away where he could never hurt Robin, if she would still be the mother who always held her son as if afraid someone would take him away from her.Aberdeen Spencer
Cin stared at the child. As if the woman's confession was the last missing piece of the puzzle, other bits and pieces were falling into place. That familiarity ... that something he'd seen in the boy's face. It was ... it was family relations. It was - the boy was a Tawse. And, now, Cináed could see it.Cináed Tawse

For all intents and purposes, the child should be negligible. In fact, had things gone as they had been originally intended, the boy wouldn't exist. He wasn't supposed to exist. A reality that had nothing to do with the boy himself - his death was intended to, simply, be an unfortunate side effect of his mother's untimely death. Had Margo Valdaine not left in such a suspicious manner ... she'd have had the child and he would have ...
What?
Would he, currently, be the bonafide father of a two-year-old? Would he have chosen such a path? That was the question his mind kept returning to with varying conscious and sub-conscious responses.Cináed Tawse

"I appreciate your understanding in this. I know I'm not the typical father material but doesn't mean I can't be a father."Cináed Tawse
"I'm not sure if he's potty trained... Do you know how to change a diaper, Cináed? That's rather important. Do you know how to feed him, and make sure that he stays safe, and everything like that? I don't like the idea of leaving him in your hands if you aren't capable of caring for him? Do you need a nanny? We could likely find you one. Perhaps some nice, homeschooled, pureblood girl? There are quite a few of those out there. With you running the pub, among other things, you'll need someone to help look after him until you learn to juggle everything."Liadán Ó Móráin

‘The Memory Charm,’ gasped Aberdeen, and suddenly it felt as though the world had fallen out from beneath her. She and Luke had a son. And now he was gone, along with any memory they had of him. It made sense now, this disconcerting feeling that they had, as though they had forgotten something... Oh, but why did it have to be this, why couldn’t it be anything but this?Aberdeen Spencer
Her eyes shifted back to Ab and she smiled a little, “I know how you feel,” Akiva responded easily, “to feel powerless and confused and violated…” she looked between the two of them, “it’s really hard. But, you have each other,” she smiled, “and the coloring pages and diary. It will work out, even if we have to go at pictures and stuffed animals and cupcakes forever.”Akiva Katz
'You said you've got a lot on your conscience. I want you to know that I'm withholding judgement on that, for now. I don't know exactly what happened, after all, and Murphy knows I haven't got a clean record myself.' She looked him straight in the eye; her expression wasn't antagonistic or challenging, but it was deadly serious. 'I didn't want to meet you so I could guilt you into giving me information. I wanted to meet you so I could hire you to help me find my son.'Aberdeen Spencer
