During daylight hours today, werewolves were reported to attack across Great Britain. At least three attacks of this nature are confirmed - two in Diagon Ally and one in the forests surrounding Hogwarts School. The Daily Prophet has very little information at this time but we can report that these creatures appear in all ways like werewolves. There are no known instances of werewolves transforming during the day, so all bets are off as to what's going on.

Simultaneously direwolf Frank Pratt attacks Calaveras in Diagon. He tears into the restaurant and attacks Georgianne Sleeper, an employee. Kabir Ahmed attempts to save her, but fails. Candice Stevenson, Nate Briggs, and Declan Murphy escape.

Dugan Macduff, a direwolf terrorizes Diagon Alley on Cináed Tawse's orders. Among those in the fray are Shannon Thornton and her husband, Eleanor St. James, James Forrester, Aleron Wilhelm, Niobe Thursby, Izadora Franti and Torquil Foley.

A direwolf bursts out of the Forbidden Forest and attacks the students serving detention at the thestral pen in the late afternoon. Figaro Sellaphix, Freya Jansdotter, Jordyn Dimbleby and Beatrix Dark escape without wounds thanks to Ignan Storm, Georg Kirchlehner and A.A. Shepherd. But Eveline Chancelier is cornered in a barn and sustains a scratch. Georg Kirchlehner also sustains a werewolf scratch.

The Direwolves, as the public has dubbed them, appeared in all ways like werewolves. Some witnesses even contend that they seemed to possess human thought - a trait never found in normal werewolves. "It was like he was looking right at him!" said one witness who saw the Direwolf attack at Calaveras in Diagon Alley.

Daily ProphetMacduff Kidnaps Department of Mysteries Employee

Department of Mysteries employee Colin Downer was declared missing after not showing up for work April 7, a date coinciding with April's full moon. Downer is a registered werewolf, and there is concern of further Wolfsbane Potion malfunctions, such as were responsible with a dozen attacks in March. When Downer's apartment was searched a note was found believed to be left by Wanted Wizard Dugan Macduff. Macduff is wanted for multiple assaults.Chase Chaucer

St. Mungo's Hospital of Magical Maladies & Injuries was the scene of some very disturbing illness this week in yet another Werewolf-Gone-Awry mishap. On the 7th of June, werewolf patients had been admitted with strange symptoms after their last transformation. What occurred next is sure to remind readers of the infamous Ides of March attacks where eye-witness spotted werewolves fully transformed during the day.

While Kurby is on patrol in Camden during the full moon, he is approached by a vampire called Lazarus Blackburn who has a cryptic tip about a werewolf on the loose. Blackburn leads him on an eerie chase that ends up in a dark abandoned train tunnel. There they encounter a Direwolf. Their pairing ends up being an effective match. Turns out Lazarus can smell a difference in Direwolf blood. They go their separate ways.

Kurby Bagnold, Fauna Blake, Charlie Harris, Fauna Blake, and Tessa Fenneken respond to Moira McBoid's report of a werewolf in Regents Park. When they arrive, they are met apparently by chance by Lazarus Blackburn. Together they investigate the London Zoo where they are ambushed by Cinead Tawse and Aviad Cohen, who have loosed a werewolf and a Direwolf. The result of the night is four muggle security guards dead, Tawse and Cohen escaped, and the Ministry agents aware of Tawse's grand return. The entire ambush was just a test for Tawse, to gauge Ministry's response time and intervention strategy.

Aviad Cohen sets a trap at the home of Alec Carter, blanketing the property in spells to keep any chance of help away. At his side, one of Cinead Tawse's direwolves, the same (direwolf that attacked Iona Ballentyne in 2008).

Dido Tawse informs Iona Ballentyne that Kurby Bagnold is looking for her. Kurby fills in Iona on the events at the safe house as Iona was busy being a werewolf herself the night before. They realize that no one has seen Alec Carter and go to his house to investigate. They find him dead.
