Pertraho talus

From Absit Omen Lexicon

Spell Name: Ankle Grabber Hex

Incantation: Pertraho talus

Pronunciation: PER-tray-ho TAL-us

Spell Branch: Charms

Magical Discipline(s): Curses; Defensive; Hexes

Appearance: An instantaneous red rope of bright light burns around the ankle of the victim. The caster uses a fishing-rod like gesture to prolong the drag.

Description: Once cast, the hex yanks the victim off their feet by the ankle in the direction of the caster. The caster raises their wand up and back or out to the side and behind to drag the victim in a direction. The stronger the cast and intention (and how experienced) the better the result. Beginners may only see victims feel a tug at an ankle. Advanced variations exist to grab both ankles simultaneously. Lasts for several seconds before dissipating. Can be cast on victims not seen but suspected.

Regulations: None

Skill Level: Intermediate

Etymology: pertraho : to drag, forcibly conduct, entice, allure. talus : the ankle, ankle bone.
