The National Museum of Wizarding History
The Museum is nestled amongst muggle London, not far from the Science Museum, and V&A. It is host to the wizarding history of Britain and other temporary exhibitions.
Appearance
From outside, the museum building looks like another Victorian house in a run of them, converted into a hotel. The hotel always shows 'no vacancies'.
Inside the reception there is a wardrobe which looks a little out of place. One enters the museum by opening the wardrobe and stepping inside. Beyond are stairs downwards which reveal a very vast and grand hall below.
The vaulted entrance hall is an exact replica of the Natural History Museum London. Made of beige and red coloured terracotta tiles and bricks, beautiful patterns adorn the arches, columns and handrails. They show Magical Beasts and bits of key scenes of history that have helped create modern life and society as known today.
If one does not follow the grand stairs down to the various wings, but turns left, the offices of the Head and Senior Curators can be found. To the right, the gallery has been turned into a beautiful café overlooking the hall.
The many wings of the museum have no ending, some burying themselves deep into the ground. Turning from dungeons to tunnels no one really likes to enter, parents are advised to keep an close eye on their children. During the history of the museum, people had gone missing within these tunnels, sometimes returning after hours, sometimes days or weeks and in one case of a very unfortunate young boy, not at all. Since said incident, visitors get magical tracking devices in form of a small silver owl pin. If tipped with the wand, the owl magically comes alive and leads the lost back to the entrance or is able to send distress signals if tapped thrice. In this case, the golden crest worn by all Museum employees will light up, flashing a dim red light.
Apart from the extreme, the museum is a bright and beautiful place, with vast halls and open spaces.
