Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee
The Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee is a division of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. Members of this committee think up excuses that will explain magical happenings to Muggles. Unlike the Office of Misinformation, who becomes involved in only the very worst magical-Muggle collisions and liaises with the Muggle Prime Minister, this committee deals with the more minor incidents.
Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee 
This small body of Muggle culture experts manages the specific explanations of magical phenomenon and activity to Muggle media, law enforcement, and government. They often called to convene quickly and produce a thorough excuse to distribute to all relevant divisions and departments. Excuses are always thorough and strict, the vocabulary and details of the excuse tightly controlled.
The committee consults closely with the Squib Network, Muggle Liaison Office, Office of Misinformation, and the Muggle Affairs Office. In the Ministry bureaucracy, there is some push and pull between the MWEC and the Office of Misinformation as they are in separate departments.
