Monroe Jefferson, otherwise known as Mo, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her mother owns an apothecary and her father was (he is retired now) part of Magical Law Enforcement. Mo grew up in a strict, but loving household with a lot of structure and discipline. She always looked up to her father. Additionally, she has an older sister, twin brother (Clyde), and younger brother. Her older sister is also a lesbian and married her longtime partner with whom she has two children, Monroe's niece and nephew.
She studied at SWIM and graduated without a plan for what she was going to do after. Deciding that it was appropriate to take a gap year, Mo travelled to Europe and backpacked around the continent staying at magic friendly hostels. One night, while out in Germany, she was stumbling home from a club and unfortunately, was attacked by a werewolf. Unregistered and afraid, Mo decided she would stay in Europe to avoid putting strain on her family. She resettled in London and found some work.
Never afraid of hard work, Mo has made a life for herself and is fairly successful. Currently, she has two jobs hostessing and lives with a few roommates who are aware of her unregistered status. This helps her save money to not only support her need for wolfsbane but also her shoe addiction: sneakers and heels. People swear they've never seen her wear the same pair twice. Mo would never correct them, even if they were wrong.
