Mirror of Erised
From Absit Omen Lexicon
As of 2009 or earlier, the existence of the Mirror of Erised is a generally known fact in the British magical world.
As of 2012, the permanent home is by most accounts unknown, and thought to be owned by a secretive private owner.
Origins
The object now known as the Mirror of Erised is actually two separate artifacts. The massive silvered glass of the mirror itself has been dated to YEAR when it was commissioned as a gift between sovereigns.
The large gothic-style wooden frame with curious backwards English inscription were added much later.
