Metamorphmagus

A Metamorphmagus (pl. Metamorphmagi) is a witch or wizard with the ability to change his or her physical appearance at will, rather than requiring Polyjuice Potion or a spell like the rest of the wizarding population. They are also extremely rare.

Abilities
- Metamorphmagi can take a wide variety of forms, changing sex and age, potentially looking like anyone at all, or even just changing a part of their appearances.
- A Metamorphmagus is born, not made. It is an inherited skill that cannot be learned. The ability presents very early in life.
- Like many other types of magic, a Metamorphmagus' abilities can be affected by his or her emotional state. Strong emotions can affect their abilities to the point of having trouble using them at all.
- Metamorphmagi do not need their wands to utilize their abilities.
Training
Although it is an innate skill, Metamorphmagi may fine tune their ability through trial and error. Due to the rarity of the skill there is no established training for them.
However, there are books written for metamorphmagi, such as Inside & Outside by Dmitri Denisen. These books address the nuances of being a metamorphmagus.
