Those who have wands made out of cherry wood are more likely to be respected. They have an active Quidditch team-- every member of the Japanese Quidditch Team owes their skill to Mahoutokoro's training regimen in an trying environment. They not only had to avoid bludgers, but they had to avoid muggle aircrafts as well. They practice over stormy seas in turbulent conditions. (Via Pottermore)

Student Life

Day students are accepted at the age of seven, and are flown home each day on the backs of giant storm petrels. At the age of eleven, students are boarded at the school. The school robes are given to the students upon admission, and they grow as the students grow. The colors of the robes change according to their academic standing. They start out at a faded pink color, and then gradually get close to gold. Gold is only for students with top scores in every class. If the robe is white, it is an indication of failure.

For boarded students, there are many school trips. Some last for several days. There are also events held by the school's clubs that the rest of wizarding Japan are more than welcome to participate in.

Academics

There are many different classes offered at Mahoutokoro, and a diverse staff of muggleborns, halfbloods, and purebloods.
