Lillian Honeysuckle is the Muggle Studies teacher at Hogwarts. She is only seen around the castle when she is in to teach and otherwise spends her time away from the castle doing other work.
Honeysuckle is very sweet to the students and has a good reputation both for being popular with them and also achieving good results. She has no real reason to stick her head up over the ledge to cause disapproval and generally pitches in as necessary.
Lillian was meant to be married but was left at the altar and this has left a lasting impact. Any mention of romantic relationships, engagements, marriages and she is likely to appear upset or have to leave a conversation. Her heart was well and truly broken by the muggle who left her at the altar. He had to be found by the ministry and obliviated to keep the statute of secrecy, as he'd not long found out she was a witch. She hopes that by teaching muggle studies and working on how to better introduce muggle families to the wizarding world, she will save more families from the heartbreak she experienced.
