Lachlan MacFusty is a partner and defence attorney at the well-known Scottish wizarding law firm of Burns & Hammish. He is a part of the MacFusty clan, a family whose members are responsible for the care of the Hebridean Black dragon in the United Kingdom. Lachlan himself had begun his studies in law as part of his efforts to help the clan deal with various legal issues when it came to dragon lawsuits, endangerment and property inheritance. He eventually chose to also pursue criminal law.
He has a good reputation as a lawyer and is known for making dramatic but sound arguments. His thick northern Scottish accent is practically trademark by now, and he's generally on good terms with other professionals in the field. The kind of man who could eviscerate you in court and buy you a strong whisky afterwards. No grudges borne, no personal judgements made.
At present, Lachlan is the defence attorney for the Spectre clan. He is a good friend of Balthair Spectre and Balfour Spectre, as the firm's previous partners had been to previous Spetres. Burns & Hammish have been contracted to the Spectres over many generations. It doesn't hurt that their families have a lot in common, in terms of their love for beasts and dragons.
Lachlan is technically related to Balfour's siblings (including Nathaira Spectre whose mother married from the MacFusty clan).
