Ksenia is Grigory and Vasily's sister and an aspiring ice quidditch player with dreams of playing for the Nashville Vipers. She is also a werewolf. She is currently studying at Koldovstoretz.
Family
Both parents are wizards; father Boris, however, is muggleborn, while mother Ekaterina comes from a slightly more established family. Like many, Ksenia's paternal grandparents had worked in factories. Older brother Grigory (25) is a beast handler; younger brother Vasily (19) is a professional ice quidditch player.
Relationships
Ksenia finds her brothers silly, reckless, and often irritating at turns—especially when their latest Bad Idea involves a rich, spoiled, pureblood witch or wizard who cannot be any good for them. But she loves them all the same, and is very protective of them and their happiness. Her relationship with Vasily is slightly more antagonistic, but when it comes to solidarity, they're practically an Iron Curtain. With spikes.
Unsurprisingly, she is a source of both pride and despair.
She is also quite close to Grigory's best friend, Irina Manning, who she regards as both a role model and a sister figure and harbors a childish dream that she and Grigory might one day realize they are perfect for each other.
Lycanthropy
See Werewolf Supplementary Form.
Under Russian law, Ksenia is wawkalak—a “good” law-abiding werewolf. As such, she is entitled to a monthly dose of Wolfsbane Potion, “moon days” and technically welcome at public establishments. Her physical abilities earn her favor and consideration among her athletic instructors and visiting quidditch scouts. She may use private safehouses (if she can afford them) and can attend or submit suggestions to the werewolf legislative body.
But although her status grants her certain advantages, it does not provide true protection. These advantages are privileges rather than rights, leaving her still very much exposed to certain threats and discrimination. Her physical abilities are dismissed as easily as they are admired, and with the right amount of money and influence someone can change her classification behind her back. Many wawkalak have lost their lives to oboroten hunting because the government turned a blind eye.
