Kazuo is the deceased father of Maiko Biladeau-Yukawa and Kohaku Yukawa. His parents are Hiro Yukawa and Ayame Yukawa, and his brothers are Ichiro Yukawa and Isamu Yukawa. Like his father, Kazuo is also a seer. He fell in love with a French muggle named Melanie Biladeau while travelling. He got her pregnant and they married swiftly. His family did not approve of the relationship, and stopped communicating with him when he announced their marriage. He felt a great deal of shame for disappointing and angering his family, sent his wand back home to his family, and integrated into muggle society. He never once let his new family know of his magical history. As he loved working with plants and nature, he became a farmer. In secret, he embraced wandless divination.
He and his wife had their daughter, Maiko, in the early eighties. In 1990, he and Melanie briefly split up, though they reconciled in the end. As a result, he had a son with another woman. Melanie treated Kohaku as if he was her own son whenever he visited. In 1996, Melanie died of lupus-related complications. Kazuo fell into a deep depression and stopped taking care of himself. He passed away in 1997.
