Jo is a shop owner with a sense of adventure and lots of courage to back up her drive. She is enthusiastic and friendly making her a great shop owner and hopefully a good mother. She is a single mother of one and her son is the joy in her life.

Physical Description
Jo has extremely dark hair; it would be easiest to describe as black. This is her natural colour and she loves it. It was only when she reached her late teens did she begin to charm it different colours. Jo always chose vibrant colours that looked extremely shocking against the dark canvas that was her hair, currently a brilliant turquoise. It was self-expression in the best way; it pissed of her parents. Another aspect of self-expression that pissed off her parents was her choice to tattoo her pale and nearly unblemished skin, as well as to pierce it. Her tattoos area always seeming to multiply each time her parents see her, she is now at a total of eight and that number is rising. The pieces are on her back, both arms and right leg. Each are of stunning design and intricate work. Her piercings she has promptly lost count of, some have overgrown and she has pierced again. The most noticeable ones would be her ears and facial piercings, as she has her lower lip, philtrum and septum pierced. These were the easiest ways to make her parents cringe and still are.
Asides from the tattoos she has a rather unblemished complexion. She is noticeably pale due to her black hair. Her hair is cropped short, but above her shoulders but with some expert charms and bobby pins she has been known to create a fashionable up do. Even with the crazy coloured hair, piercings, she still manages to have a bit of innocence in her facial expressions. It is probably due to the fullness of her rounded shape. Jo is by no means skinny, she is more on the fuller side and it shows in her face, especially her cheeks when she smiles. Jo is a full figured woman, she is busty and with a substantial bum. She is on the chubby side, not fat, but there is some excess cushion. Her arms are slim lacking much muscular definition, and her thighs are a bit on the full side by no means huge. Her full figure is from getting pregnant and a love of beer.
Jo’s clothing style is not one you can pin down. She simply picks up something she likes and works it into her wardrobe. She loves dresses, skirts, pants, shirts, anything really that has a sense of Jo about it. She does love to shop making her wardrobe particularly extensive, especially in the shoe department. Jo is only 5’5 in height so she does wear heels to give her that bit of height. The heels definitely assist the height as well as the mesmerizing hip swagger she has when she walks. Jo walks with a purpose and her head held high. She doesn’t slouch much as she feels she has got nothing to hide. If ever there was a woman proud of her body it is Jo.
Personality Description
Jo has not changed much from her days at Hogwarts, asides from maturing and understanding the needs of responsibility more. Jo is adventurous, and pioneering. She will never back down and has the courage to go for the things she wants. This is why she is a business owner; she kept going until she got the end result she desired. Even if there are bumps along the way Jo would never let them bother her, and just work with the card life dealt her. Jo still attempts to bother her parents with her many piercing and dyed hair, she figures why not bug them she is at least not turning out to be as much of a disappointment as they expected.
During school Jo was known for having a great personality and being enthusiastic and friendly. She generally talked to anyone who wanted to talk to her, but she didn't go out of her way to strike up conversation. She may not have been the most popular, or the smartest girl in Hogwarts but she definitely left her mark on the people she encountered. She continues to be that enthusiastic and friendly girl, making her quite personable when it comes to customer service.
Jo is an outdoorsy person and there is no changing that. She loves a good hike when she can fit it in, or one of her favourite pastimes of camping from her childhood. The smells of the outdoors are some of her favourite. Her adventurous side does go hand in hand with her like for the outdoors as she there really isn’t anything she wouldn’t try. Jo loves trying new things be it from new types of teas, to new types of food or activities.
Like every person there are sides of Jo that are not all that pleasant. She has a short-temper, but she is working on that when it comes to her son. She really has a short fuse when it comes to people judging her and arguing with her. With certain people she can be extremely argumentative, for example when it comes to her parents. Jo can also be quite impatient and has difficulty wait for the end result, and she also does not put up with stupidity unless it is her own stupidity. Jo is also known to be impulsive, which is both good and bad because it means she looks before she leaps and can be quite spontaneous but she can do stupid things that she quickly regrets.
History
The Minuk family was a pureblood Jewish family originating in England. The line can be traced back significantly and probably ties into a few famous families. Unfortunately, when it comes to Joella Ruth Minkus’ she is anything but pure and everybody knows it despite the fact it isn’t discussed. The scandal was well known among the people of Derby, and the surrounding pureblood families. Gossip travels fast when it was this good. Jo’s father Edom Minkus was romantically involved with Lauren Fox a local muggle woman. Lauren was nothing special just a waitress Edom took a liking too. Lauren was uneducated, had little money, and shouldn’t have even been a blip on the pure man’s radar. Edom was a well to do wizarding accountant, with a vault full of money, a pure and proper Jewish wife (Ira Minkus), and a son named Tovi who was only three. Edom would run off to see this woman every week, but the last week that he saw her she uttered earth-shattering news to the man, she was pregnant. Lauren was of course over the moon to be with child, her life was coming together and she thought things were going well with this well to do accountant. How wrong she was. Edom split immediately hoping to wash his hands of his indiscretions. When he told his wife of his mistakes her only reply was, “That child will be magical.” The two had been arranged to marry, Ira herself had a few affairs over the years but had never been so careless as to get pregnant, nor fraternize with the muggles. It was now time to do some damage control.
Ira put upon the ruse of being pregnant, but truthfully everyone had his or her doubts. Edom would not see Lauren again until she would give birth, where he told her what he was and the importance that Edom has custody of the child. He told Lauren he would not pay child support if she chose to keep the child, but would in turn pay her off to have the child put into Edom and Ira’s custody without a fuss. Lauren, being only twenty at the time, took the money giving up custody to Edom and his wife. Edom nor Ira have ever spoken of Lauren to anyone, nor to do they ever worry that she will seek out their daughter Joella Ruth Minkus. Joella Ruth Minkus was born March 21, 1983 in a muggle hospital in Derby, England.
With the dirty business of Jo’s mother buried in the backs of their mind they raised Jo as if she were their child. Sure there was gossip surrounding Jo and how different she looked from her elder brother or even her parents. Jo looked a lot like her mother. When Jo got older she could spend hours look at herself in the mirror wondering where the features she saw came from, because she definitely didn’t see where her hazel coloured eyes or nose came from. It didn’t matter how much she asked, nothing was ever spoken of these matters. Jo was brought up in a cold Jewish pureblood home. The only time she saw the entire family together was when observing Sabbath or other Jewish holidays. Most of her time was spent with her elder brother Tovi, or the many nannies that circulated the Minkus manor.
From a young age Edom taught both Tovi and Jo the importance of being pure, and the idealism that followed during that time. He also taught them subjects soon to be taught at Hogwarts. She felt it important to start the education young, especially in the case of Jo. Edom wanted there to be no doubt that she was of magical blood. It was a relief to her parents when she showed her first signs of magic at the age of four.
Edom and Ira were blessed with another boy when Jo was ten. They had never planned to have another child after their son Tovi, they had the son they were expected and required to have. Oz Minkus was welcomed into the world with some confusion. Edom and Ira both had made an effort to push that drunken Christmas ball night from their mind. At least they had not created another scandal with the birth of Oz that August.
Finally the time came for Jo to head off to Hogwarts, she would follow in nobody’s footsteps as she was sorted into Gryffindor. Jo was welcomed into Gryffindor with a warm hug, but it felt like home. Jo would find herself flourishing at Hogwarts, especially without the strict rules of her parents. Jewish holidays no longer needed to be observed, and she began to experience a world outside of the Minkus home. She began to be exposed to many more things, one in particular rock n roll and punk music. Jo found herself easily becoming involved with the music, becoming almost fanatical. Her parents never expected Hogwarts students to change their daughter so much. Jo would claim they didn’t change her, she just found who she was meant to be. Jo never really found a passion academically, and she really only coasted through Hogwarts at an average level.
Jo entered school at a conflicting time, what with all going on with the Dark Lord. Much of it went over her head; she wasn’t interested in that sort of stuff. She only really noticed it when it was head on and in her face. She was fourteen when Dumbledore died, and fifteen when the Battle of Hogwarts took place. Both those aspects of the war were extremely hard not to notice. She was a fifth year when the battle of Hogwarts took place, and it turned her world upside down. She exposed to the dark side of life that year, one she did enjoy to dabble in. This little taste to the Dark Arts was one that lingered within her.
Since Hogwarts Jo hasn’t let the lack of academic drive stop her from finding something to do in life. She knew for sure she could not spend any time more time than needed at her family, which prompted her to immediately find employment. She found a job as a waitress at a teashop; this was where she found her niche. It wasn’t long before she was searching for a way to own her own teashop; she was determined to do it on her own. Unfortunately life got in the way because Jo became pregnant when she was twenty. Jo welcomed a son, Benjy Minkus, into the world late summer 2003. Benjy’s father has remained out of the picture since his conception and Jo has never minded. Jo of course still had dreams of owning her own teashop, but with no way to fund it. Just this past spring Jo’s parents have helped her open the shop lending her the money, which she intends to pay back. She has kept her shop running so far and hopes to do so for a long time coming.

How do you go about it? How did you get your current occupation? How does your past and abilities justify your current skills? Jo is a shop owner of Divine Tea. She sells various types of teas, all with their own benefits. In addition to the sell of tea she serves all the teas people can purchase with a platter of sweets and finger sandwiches. Her hours are between 10-6pm, though she only serves food until 4pm, though she continues to serve tea to go until close. In addition she sells herbal therapies, many developed on her own for various types of healing or beauty enhancement.
