Jack - or as he's more often called in the field - Cormy - is a giant specialist for the Being Division. He lives up in Cumbria, near to the Pennines, where giants are active but hidden from muggle view. He uses his buzzard animagus form to scout the giants and observe their movements.
As a tall man, he sticks out when he visits the London offices, especially if he wears a tall hat. He jokes there must have been a half giant in his ancestry, but this has never been proved or denied.
He is a master of a silent stare, where unwitting victims will be liable to babble excuses or protests without a word from Cormy. He has a deep, unexpectedly gentle voice, though can out-shout the average voice in the open with his terrific lungs. Cormy is known to tell a good yarn if he comes out drinking with the team, but should never be challenged to a non-magical arm wrestle.
2017 Incident
Cormy was actively monitoring the Pennines giant colony when Trung, the gurg (leader) of the colony was challenged by younger giant Rasnus. After a violent fight, resulting in at least one other giant dying, a female giant nearly reaching the town of Barnard Castle and other statute breaches, Cormy and a party went to negotiate with Trung.
Trung didn't want to negotiate their way, so abducted Cormy and made off with him, calling for Rasnus to be brought to him to finish the fight. It took three long days to rescue Cormy, subduing the giants to rescue. In the struggle Trung suffered a mortal injury, leaving Rasnus victorious. Cormy had been near buried in a giant’s den, crushed and had to spend some weeks in St Mungo’s while his bones mended.
