Become a C-box Moderator

Do you want to help out at Absit Omen?

Absit Omen periodically recruit c-box moderators to help maintain a positive, supportive c-box atmosphere. We love our guest-friendly c-box, but it isn't always possible for a Curator to be present. You the members have asked for it and we are happy to deliver!

Do you already hang out in the c-box from time to time? Are you friendly and comfortable saying 'no' if necessary? Do you want to be a part of growing and supporting AO's mission of community and positivity? Then you should apply to be a C-box Mod!

What we need in a c-box moderator

• Comfortable saying 'no' when it comes to unacceptable topics or language in the c-box, even to your friends
• Understand the c-box rules, and general AO culture of support, positivity, and respect.
• A calm, friendly c-box demeanor.

Become an Aide

Lend a hand at Absit Omen!

The upkeep of certain records and functions are vital at Absit Omen; it's what helps our favorite community keep chugging behind the scenes. Aides help the Curators by taking on some of these tasks, whether it's regularly updating a list, maintaining the wiki, contributing to Fortnight Fliers, or assisting in a variety of other roles around the site.

Do you like updating records? Are you a huge fan of the wiki? Then you might find a perfect role as an Aide!

What we need in an Aide

• Reliable and dependable.
• Enjoys updating records or completing other tasks.
• Familiarity with BBCode or wiki coding (depending on the position).

Aide Positions

Advertising

• Comfortable representing Absit Omen on external sites by posting and monitoring our adverts.
• Able to keep updated records of postings and report back to the curator in charge of advertising.
• We're looking for one or two people for this role.

Avatar Registry

• Regularly maintain and update the Avatar Registry.
• Answer basic member questions regarding avatar selection.
• Communicate with Curators in cases of inappropriate or conflicting avatars.

Hogwarts Records (Classes & Points)

• Perfect for someone who loves the Hogwarts side to AO.
• Maintains the housepoints thread.
• Maintains the class updates.

Hogwarts Records (Rosters)

• For a records fanatic who is unafraid of the wiki
• Adds new student class selections to the rosters on the wiki
• Every few months or at the end of the academic IC term, clears out inactive characters

Plot Development

• Are you a plot fanatic? This aide will need to ensure our plot threads are filed correctly.
• Regular duty updating the Open Threads Directory by removing old threads.
• Periodically archiving plots that have completed or have become dormant.

Wiki Supervisor

• Oversee general maintenance of the Absit Omen Lexicon.
• Answer questions for other members regarding the Lexicon.
