Hollingbury Home

The Hollingbury family house is located at 25 Stuart Road, Acton. Because it is in an entirely Muggle location, it appears normal and is heavily protected by multiple defensive wards and charms.

Current inhabitants are Mordecai Hollingbury, Lydia Hollingbury and Metis.

Exterior

Disillusionment Charms exist to hide several magical devices and the magical plants growing in the front and back yards. Upon the front gate there is a charm that makes a unique sound based on which member of the Hollingbury family opened it. When a stranger passes through, the gate charm is a generic tinkling bell instead.

Backyard

The backyard features a small patio on which the Hollingburys might enjoy a few open-air dinners if the weather permits. A Muggle looking over the fence will see nothing magical of any sort. The garden is also home to Lydia's experimenting plants, though in winter it's bare because most of her plants can't survive the cold.

Plan

The house has fireplaces in every major room, which makes it easy for separate members of the family to leave the house via Floo without waking other people up.

The bedroom on the second (third in the USA) floor used to be Arcturus's; it is kept the way it is if he ever comes back for a night or two.

Ground floor (or first in the USA)

All the rooms are used exactly as they are labelled on the plan. The kitchen/diner is also half full of plants along the left wall, creating an indoor forest on that side.

First floor (or second in the USA)

The bedroom at the back (due North of the plan) is used as a spare. The largest bedroom at the front is Mordecai and Lydia's. The bedroom next to theirs used to belong to Alethea Hollingbury; it remains untouched, unused and in clean condition. Visitors may look around, but no one is allowed to use it.
