Gwendolyn, commonly known as Gwen, is the daughter of Archibald Hughes and Maureen Dempsey. Since her father has had primary custody of her since her parents divorce, she sees him as the stable parent and is very attached to him. When he is in 'work mode', she spends time with her aunt Gertrude or cousin (who she thinks of as an aunt as well) Audrey, or her one of her grandparents, all who adore and spoil her rotton.
She is a bright, intuitive and confident little girl who is at worst a bit spoilt and manipulative. This is mainly because her father and older brother are wrapped around her little finger.

Gwen is more like Archie in that she is quite bright and curious, though she has more confidence and is more outgoing than her father. Both he and Toby, as well as most of her extended family, tend to spoil her so she has gotten quite good at wrapping them around her little finger.
