In 1984, Fortuna was found dead at Grimshaw's. She was drained of blood, but according to Lazarus Blackburn, vampires had nothing to do with it. At the British Museum library, Bagnold and Aileen discover that she was a victim of the Grimshaw's murders that happen every 28 years.
