Erzulie (née Afamdi-Montenet) runs a popular diner, Miss Charlotte's, that serves as a cover for Maison Verte, her apothecary. She is a graduate of Madame Laveau's Academy for Girls, a member of the British Association of Herbologists, and the mother of Tracy Jones.
Since the death of her husband, Erzulie has focused on the apothecary, perfecting cultures and domesticating violent vegetation—leaving her son Tracy in the care of his grandmother back in New Orleans. She keeps a room for him, however, when he comes to visit, and has extended the same courtesy to his good friend Gracie Slant, whom she has taken under her wing and still mentors from afar.
An unregistered Animagus, her form is a golden silk orb-weaver, which she uses to produce the golden thread for which it’s so famous for– and to control the colony of spiders that which she owns.
Personality
Wise, patient, and fearless, Erzulie knows how to bide her time and accept things as they come; good things may come to those who wait, but they’re even better when one knows when to act. With an innate sense of balance that extends past the physical, Erzulie knows not just who she is, but where she is. Both literally and figuratively, her sense of direction is unparalleled.
Private Research
A former Healer (at St. Dymphna's) and a lifetime Herbologist, Erzulie's experties lies with herbal poisons and their antidotes, magical fungi, and carnivorous plants.
