Society wife. Mother of Trevor, Aileen, Simon and Abigail Reid. She married Douglas Reid right after graduating Hogwarts, and spends her time climbing the pure-blood social ladder and interfering in her children’s lives.
History
Born a Darrion, Cullodena was raised in her youth to pursue a certain ideal of life. She was instructed by a governess in magical knowledge and the superiority of wizards, and given vague attentions by her parents.
As was expected, she was sorted into Slytherin when she began at Hogwarts in 1965. While there, she divided times between her studies and social affairs, a balance which shifted far towards the social in her later years. Shortly after graduation, she married Douglas Reid, an arranged match that both found tolerable. Their first child, Trevor, was born late in 1973, and two other children, Aileen, and then Simon, soon followed.
A fourth child, their daughter Abigail, was surprisingly born in 1993, long after her siblings. Not long after this, Cullodena's efforts at finding a suitable husband for her eldest daughter bore fruit, one which soon turned sour as Aileen's infidelity led into a divorce after less than a year. This trauma was compounded by the reality that Douglas' sister, Alva Knight (ne Reid), saw her son Tarron disowned in 1994 for his marriage to a Muggle-born witch. Such shocks to their traditional ideas of proper behavior led Alva and Cullodena to become closer over the following years.
But Cullodena's proper existence was eventually disrupted by the second rise of Lord Voldemort. While nominal supporters of his ideals, the family were much more interested in their social status than in a war, and found the violence and upset of it rather distasteful. To keep out of it, they kept their heads down and engaged in a bit of travel to calmer locales. An avoidance which took on more urgency after Alva Knight and her husband Archibald were slain by Death Eaters in 1997 for their relative neutrality in the conflict.
Matters of Cullodena's family did not improve much after the war. Her youngest son, Simon, was turned into a werewolf, and his whereabouts and status are currently unknown. Aileen, rather than finding herself another spouse, has now found herself a position as a Professor at Hogwarts. Abigail has proven to be a squib. And Trevor, Trevor the golden child (even though his children are only daughters so far), now sits in Azkaban for his involvement with Runespoor smuggling.
Atop this, she's seen the more moderate members of her family, those whom she scorns, do terribly well. Tarron Knight has become the Chief Warlock, and Douglas' brother, Herschel Reid, is on the prestigious Hogwarts Board of Governors, and was even tapped to head the school for a time.
So far, this has led Cullodena to offer even more pressure towards her daughters, an attempt to hold onto her social standing that has grown ever more loud, aggressive, and frantic. They are, it seems, her last hope, and with Abigail nearly of age plans to marry her off are progressing. What she'll do if these last efforts fail her is still unknown, even to her. But she's unlikely to bend her neck too far.
