Brett Abraham

From Absit Omen Lexicon

Brett Abraham is 27 years old and a recent Gryffindor graduate. She is currently taking part in Auror Training. She is very much a tomboy and quite a firecracker. Brett has spent her entire school career working to become an auror. She's loud and quirky, likes to have fun, and gets along better with boys than girls for the most part. Brett has strong morals, is close with her family and friends, and is looking forward to graduation and embarking on her adult life- hopefully joining auror training with some of her friends.

History

Born in the town of Hinklesprocket, England- a wizarding community, Brett Jane Abraham is the fourth born child of Mackenzie and Jacob Abraham. She is also the only girl in the family. Her mother and father fully expected Brett to be born a boy, too, so they had picked out a boy's name for their baby. When she was born lacking the necessary equipment, they decided to keep the name- hoping that it would help their daughter be a unique individual- and gave her a girl's name for her middle name, so she could have the choice when she got older.

Her oldest brother is named after their father and aged 23, and after him came Robert Abraham- aged 22, and finally Walter Abraham- aged 20. All four children were obviously born close together, but it was a blessing growing up, as they always had someone to play with. Brett fit in well with her brothers, and they always let her play with them- encouraging her to play sports and helping her learn the games they played with the other neighborhood boys.

Mackenzie never worked outside of the home, bringing in supplemental income by tailoring robes and breeding and selling crups. Brett's father owns a bar called The Hopping Pot (named after the Beedle the Bard fairy tale).

She always had fun playing with her brothers growing up. Brett basically ran wild outside with them, and her mother and father never saw any reason to try to force her into "being a girl"- although some of her other family members tried. After all of her brothers went to Hogwarts, and she was left alone, Brett had a hard time. She was used to always being around people and got lonely.

When she was ten years old, her mother took her to Diagon- like she did on a regular basis. While they were out at Diagon, Brett got to witness the Aurors do their job- capturing a bad guy and saving the day. She thought it was amazing what they were able to do, and liked that they were saving innocent people. From then on she knew that she wanted to be an auror, too. She liked the idea of catching bad guys and protecting people. Her parents, who always encouraged her in everything, got her books about the aurors and told her that she could do it- but that she would have to work hard.

At the age of eleven, Brett would start Hogwarts. She was sorted into Gryffindor rather quickly- the same house as all of her older brothers. She was glad to be back with them, but their relationship at school was a lot different from how it was at home. They were busy and didn't always have time to play with her or pay her the attention she wanted. But it was okay. Brett was soon making friends with the people in her year and fit in really well.

She kept working hard at the classes she would need to become an auror. Most of her friends were boys, and she loved following the quidditch games at school and on the wireless in the common room.

Third year rolled around, and she had a tough time picking out which electives she wanted to take. Eventually, Brett signed up for Care of Magical Creatures (because she has always liked animals), divination, and ancient runes. She did well in magical creatures and with runes, but never could get the hang of divination.

Brett really buckled down in her fifth year, studying hard for her OWLs and doing a lot of extra practice. Her social life suffered a little because she was so worried about her tests. It paid off in the end, though, because Brett found herself getting great scores. She got an E in Potions, Herbology, CoMC, and Runes. Brett scored O's Transfiguration, Charms, and DaDA. Brett got an A in History of Magic. But she didn't pass her OWLs in Astronomy or Divination.

Brett took NEWT level classes in the classes she got E's and O's in. Her sixth year was a lot of fun. She got to take a break from studying, got more heavily involved in clubs, and took a special interest in the dueling club- she saw it as great practice for what she hoped would be her future career. It was in her sixth year that Brett really started to befriend the younger years, too, and take them under her wing.

Since the beginning of her seventh year, Brett has had a lot going on in her social life. She has become very close friends with Fauna Blake, hoping that the Hufflepuff will join her in Auror Training. She's also become close with the Fayette twins. (Although once in a while she gets confused about her feelings for Dion- but that's not something she likes to think about.) Brett is realizing that she is growing up and has to start acting like an adult- which is kind of a bummer. But she knows that when she goes into Auror Training she'll have some close friends with her, which helps keep her chin up. (Because naturally, Brett is convince she will pass all of the requirements and be allowed to train.)
