The muggle matriarch of the Grimlish clan, Antoinette 'Annie' Grimlish is just as odd and eccentric as her magical husband and children. Osgood suspects there must be some magic in her bloodline as she can see, and even plays bridge, with the family ghosts. She is a calm and wise woman who seems completely unfazed by the insanity of the wizarding world, in fact, she seems at home in it. She is always seen in mourning clothes thanks to a prank pulled by Osgood many years prior, where he pretended to pass away, and she has treated him like one of the ghosts ever since. No one knows if she genuinely thinks he is a ghost or if she is simply getting revenge for a horrible prank.
Appearance
An older woman of French ancestry with dark hair that has little grey and a surprising lack of wrinkles for her age. Her most noticeable feature is her eyes, which are large, dark and expressive with heavy but well kept brows. She is often seen wearing black mourning clothes. As a girl, she was considered quite beautiful and could be described as 'pixie' like. Her daughters, especially Opie and Rhiannon, take strongly after her.
Biography
Third of 5 children, 4 of which were girls, Antoinette spent most of her life being ignored or undervalued. She learned to enjoy being alone and found graveyards very relaxing. This strange behavior grew as she got older and made her parents take note, so they enrolled her in a private Catholic girls school in hopes it would straighten her out. It did little to help. When she was in her mid teens, she would meet Osgood Grimlish, an equally strange boy from Poland while they were both in Paris on vacation. Despite language barriers, they fell in love and became penpals. It was through these letters that she would learn he was a wizard, which excited rather than frightened her. He promised to whisk her away to a world of magic when they both were 17, but his letters stopped soon after. She thought he abandoned her and prepared to marry another man, one her parents deemed suitable, when he suddenly reappeared in her life shortly before the nuptials. The two ran off and eloped, much to both of their families dismay. She has spent the last 40 something years by his side and gave him five beautiful children. They have traveled the world and even hosted a refugee camp during the war. Now she lives with him in Hounslow, England where she takes care of their large, haunted manor and her children and grandchildren.
Other
Interesting Facts: Despite being a muggle, Annie is liked by even the purist of purist ghosts in the house, because she makes sure to keep the graveyard in the manor yard spotless and always places fresh flowers, candles, and toys (for the unfortunate child ghosts) on the graves. Even the house poltergeist obeys her, even going as far as to clean up its messes.
