Most and foremost, Amarantha is the personification of Wizarding tradition. Her biggest fear is that her family (all pureblood families, really) become extinct and that she is leaving her descendants in a world that is no longer safe for them and that has no space for their traditions and beliefs. Her greatest flaw is probably her lack of warmth and of opening up, especially towards her children. But her observing calmness in moments of chaos and danger can make her presence a haven.
