Almasy Clan
The Almasy Clan is a matriarchal family line whose members live across Europe and the United Kingdom. They are descended twelve generations from a Hungarian family who had chosen to break away from its roots to find a new home in Russia, where the clan has subsisted ever since. In its possession include numerous estates in the country, including that of Tyumen and Sobinka. Many of the clan's central families are born and brought up in the areas surrounding Moscow but there are exceptions to this.
While Almasys are generally known as a Pureblood lineage, they do not discriminate members who marry outside their line unless it has occurred under circumstances that are expressly forbidden by the clan matriarch. Half-blood Almasys include Raine Almasy and her father, Roman. At present the clan matriarch is Ira Almasy's direct grandmother - a 98 year old pureblood witch who lives in seclusion and rarely abandons the principle estate in Tyumen.
The clan exercises various practices that may be frowned upon in the United Kingdom. These include the Dark Arts, the ostracisation of squibs, and Werewolf Hunting for sport.
