Aaron Doyle

From Absit Omen Lexicon

Aaron Doyle could convince a fourth year that he had seen the Grimm in an ink blot on her homework and laugh as she ran to the Divination tower. He could just as easily graduate to be the lead benefactor of a charity for sick children. Nobody knows much about him unless they seek him out as a friend. Aaron is either going to end up minister of magic or criminal at large. Sometimes he could use a bit of self control, but when he isn't procrastinating or putting charms on a seventh year's bed sheets, he has a heart and mind of gold.

History

Relative of the Canterbury family. (I have not contacted anybody from this pure-blood family.) Raised in a poor home with both parents, and no siblings. In the small village, nobody was particularly wealthy, but that didn't stop the Doyles from enduring their fair share of ridicule. The local elementary school children were crass, and Aaron earned the nickname, "Shag," because of his habitually ragged appearance. The teachers, of course, knew more of manners, and were kind to Aaron, however, he recognized the behavior as pity. People (students, teachers, or strangers) who saw a boy instead of dirty shoes and addressed him as a relatively intelligent one at that gained Aaron's respect.

His father, an aspiring author, told Aaron from a young age to give respect to only those who deserve it. His childhood turned Aaron into somewhat of a harsh judge, though an accurate one. The way he acted depended entirely upon his audience. Once upon a path to success, Aaron could forgo it all for the sake of his pride and someone else learning their place if he believed they deserved it. Despite his poor upbringing, his childhood left him an entitled boy.

No traumatic experiences or close family deaths, though his grandfather is in St. Mungo's with amnesia. He visits his grandfather whenever he is able, bringing him newspapers and books to devour. Aaron has a soft spot for his grandfather, who may be the only person who sees his tender side. Of course, that doesn't mean he is cruel to everybody else. However, people don't usually imagine Aaron stroking an old man's hair and reading him the Daily Prophet

He got his barn owl, Thomson, when he was eleven and received his Hogwarts letter. Thus far, he has gotten along well at Hogwarts, though his laziness has left him unwilling to pile his schedule. He passed all of his OWLS with two Outstandings in Charms and Arithmancy. His aunt on his father's side is a squib, and is welcomed in the family regardless, though his mother feels uncomfortable around her. Aaron doesn't see a problem with his aunt. She's brilliant with the slight downfall that magic escapes her, and a rather successful musician. Aaron comes from a family of artists. His niche is dance, though there isn't much time for that at Hogwarts.
