Physical Description: Slim, ginger-haired and slightly on the tall side, Verity Warren looks like any normal teenage girl. She has wide-set brown eyes, a cleft in her chin and dresses like she was thrown into a charity shop covered in glue!

Personality Description: A true Ravenclaw, Verity values intelligence above all else, even occasionally above her loved ones and their feelings. This can sometimes make her seem cold and unfeeling to those who do not know her, but really Verity feels very deeply, she just doesn't show it in the usual ways. For instance, she doesn't hug or kiss her friends 'hello', but notes for classes that they have missed often turn up on their pillow with a cheeky smiley face drawn on them.

She can be prejudiced and judgemental, treating most Slytherins as enemies until they prove themselves friends. Unfortunately, this makes her kind of a hypocrite, as she claims to hate anyone who is prejudiced towards others. Using the term 'mudblood' in front of Verity is sure to unleash her fiery temper, and leave you with your ears ringing with her always creative insults.

History: Verity was born to David and Claire Warren in 1992. She was a very sweet little baby, always gurgling and crawling around. Her parents thought she was very sweet - well, until she learned to speak.

She constantly questioned everything, wanting to know every detail about every subject. It seemed like she waited for the most inopportune moment to ask her questions - for instance, she once waited until she and her mother were right in the middle of the train station before loudly piping up with 'why is that lady so fat?'.

So bright was Verity (although not in matters where social graces were concerned) that it came as no surprise to anyone that she was sorted into Ravenclaw when she began attending Hogwarts. She settled in immediately, making friends with those she judged to be as clever as herself, although she shunned those that she thought to be 'thick'. Fortunately, there are not many of these people in Ravenclaw, so she got along with the other members of her house very well. Hufflepuffs, though, who judge loyalty and justice as the most important traits in others, are another story, as are brave Gryffindors, and don't even get her started on Slytherins.

Verity's favourite class is transfiguration, because she enjoys wandwork, and appreciates the instantaneous, tangible results of her work. Her least favourite class is Potions, because she lacks the natural ability in it that she has in most of her other lessons, and Verity hates failing. Outside of classes, she participates in Charms Club, and Wizard Chess Club.

She left her fifth year with four Os and six Es.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Verity values Knowledge above all things, even the feelings of others, and doesn't know when to stop asking questions. She is also witty and creative.

Writing Sample: Verity looked out over the grounds, smiling quietly to herself. Her cat, Marmalade, butted her legs affectionately, winding in and out as though he was trying to trip her up.
"You're a good boy," Verity murmured, absent-mindedly giving him a pat on the head. Last year had been such a challenge, with all the N.E.W.T. revision, and she was looking forward to another year spent learning all about the world, both in and out of the classroom.

The Welcoming Feast that lay behind her in the Great Hall had been beautiful, plates piled high with steaming food, but she didn't think her stomach could handle it tonight. As much as she didn't want to admit it, the unflappable Verity Warren was... well, flapping. This year marked her last at Hogwarts, after all, and no matter how interesting the topics she was learning about were, it would all be over all too soon. She would miss this castle, the grounds, the ghosts... she'd miss the cosy blue armchair by the fire that she'd claimed on her first night in the Ravenclaw common room and had basically lived in since. She would miss the friends she had made, the house elves' marvellous cooking, watching the sun set from the girl's dorm in Ravenclaw tower....

But, she reasoned, that was more than enough reason to enjoy it while she still could. She smiled down at Marmalade.
"C'mon Puss. Back into the fray."

Sum up your character in one paragraph: A true Ravenclaw, she values knowledge above all other things. She lacks social niceties, believing that learning more about others means more than sparing their feelings. Still, she is kind to those who tolerate her, and anyone who dares to disagree with her or anyone she cares for will get a tongue lashing.
