Mneme RadfordJanuary 1876 - June 2008 Died 132 Years of Age
A descendant of the famed
Mnemone Radford, developer of the Memory Charm, Mneme Radford was the last of her long-lived family. A beauty in her youth, she attended Hogwarts in 1887 - 1894, and was sorted into Hufflepuff House.
She was famous at the turn of the 20th century as a socialite, artist, and actress. Flirty but snobbish in personality, she was a smooth political player, and while she never joined the Ministry, she has several key officials in her pockets - largely via affairs.
In short, her life looked to be a success, until she married. When she was 23, she married fellow Pureblood Edward Gramp; Gramp was impoverished, but the two shared political views and their families has followed a similar history. The marriage turned ugly, however; Grample had a keen interest in the dark arts and magical invention, while she found these things rather distatseful. Still, ever the good wife, she allowed him this egocentricity, but this would turn out to be a mistake.
In 1908, her son Ignatius (by Edward) was 8 years old, and assisting his father in his shop below the Radford home. Unfortunately, a mistake caused an explosion, which killed Edward and Ignatius and caused significant damage to the home. With her son and husband dead, Mneme was brought to trial for their crimes and had most of her possessions confiscated. She was sentenced to Azkaban at first, but managed to plea - and was instead sentenced to house arrest.
She began the extensive repairs to her home in 1912 and settled in with her house elf. Since then she has been largely forgotten by her remaining family and the wizarding world, and her home dropped from being considered one of the finest modern homes in London to all but forgotten.
Living long in isolation, her home has taken on much of her personality and is full of self-painted portraits of her. She finally died in 2008, of old age; her body was removed a week later. She outlived any of her close relatives by several decades.
Since her death the home has sat in legal dispute. With no inheritances and the home too enchanted and run-down to be of much worth, the home and its furnishings have gone up for quick sale, as the land it sits on is not of much value.
Her portrait is hung in the main entrance hall and is often rather snooty with visitors. She is known to flirt with visitors, and is often visited by several white cats.
