Re: Bite After Midnight [Alice, Kale, Healers] (July 7th) Reply #15 on December 03, 2011, 05:38:08 PM Cynthia took the vile and the file silently, with a smile. She liked the way he thought of everything. "Thank you. But, I am not Alexandra's mother. I'm Allison's mom, but I didn't want to leave until I found that she would be alright." She handed back the file. "I don't think I can answer most of this. I am actually going to hop home, and send her mother. Would that be alright?" Alice hopped off her chair and took the vile out of her mother's hand and examined it. She was always curious by potions. All that she could think was, Lexi is going to be alright. She is going to be okay. She looked back up at the man who had made her feel better. "What is the severity of her condition? Will my life now be jeopardized when around her?" She spoke articulately and intelligently. That's right Alice. Show him you aren't some idiot child! She smiled, proud of herself. Would that be alright?" Alex, that was her name, Kale made a mental note of it. He hadn't had a chance to catch her name when she came in. "That's fine... Though i need this information tonight if all possible, for Alex's safety. By chance, just to be sure, do you know if she is allergic to any herbs or potions?" He used quite a few when healing, so it was the very least that he needed. He would have tried to bug her for more but Alice decided to speak up, proving to be quite intelligent and eloquent for a child that had been stuttering and sobbing not long ago. Amazing how quickly children could bounce back. "What is the severity of her condition? Will my life now be jeopardized when around her?"Kale regarded the child thoughtfully. It wasn't his place to tell her that her best friend was now a werewolf, that was something that the RCMC would have to handle lest the attack prove to be from an actual wolf that happened to be bloodthirsty on a full moon. Unlikely, but if he was wrong, well, it could reflect not only badly on him but the hospital as well. He was still so new and trying so hard to prove himself that the idea of losing his job over this actually worried him. He decided he had no choice but to not completely answer her question. "The wounds are healing nicely and we will need to watch over her for a while to make sure that they don't get an infection, but other than that she is quite stable and is hopefully resting right now..."He paused for a moment before adding "As for your safety, well... if, and I say if because the ministry has to be the ones who decides these matters, if she is infected, you will need to make sure that she is diligent about taking her medicine and going to the ministry on the full moons. You will also need to be there for her afterwards because it isn't a very fun experience and she will need you..." In hopes to raise her spirits and squash any fears or doubts, he offered her a wide and confident smile "... But, no... other than on those nights, you shouldn't be in any danger. She will be, if she is even infected, just another normal little girl like you... and she should be treated as such... More than anything, she needs her best friend to watch her back." This thought made him sad. If only his mate had been turned rather then killed, perhaps he could redeem himself for that night by watching his back. "Just a hint. Don't call her Alex. She hates that." She giggled once again. "Her name is Lexi. Lexi McGee." This man had turned a terrible day into something she would remember forever. Well, no matter what happened today, she was going to remember it forever. But this man, This kind man understood. And She smiled. He had made her better. He had made BOTH of the girls better."As for your safety, well... if, and I say if because the ministry has to be the ones who decides these matters, if she is infected, you will need to make sure that she is diligent about taking her medicine and going to the ministry on the full moons. Get Lexi to take her medicine, just like when Colin was sick. Do I need to hide it in food again? She spoke up, the minute this hit her mind. "Do I need to hide it in her food like I had to do for Colin?"Her mother laughed and turned to Kale. "Colin is her four year old little brother. He got a nasty cough a year back, and she needed to give him his medicine." Alice interrupted. "He didn't like it so I would hide it in his bread." She smiled. She always wondered what the ministry would look like, and now, she was going to have to go with Lexi every month. She wanted to work at the ministry when she grew older. I'm going to be important someday. Very Important.Cynthia stood up and grabbed Alice's hand. "Is there anything else that I can do? Or should I just go and get her mother?" Lexi McGee." "Noted." Kale said with a wink, happy she was smiling. He knew that she was probably a bit numb with shock, and that the gravity of the situation wouldn't really hit until the next full moon, so he let her be happy. He didn't want to be the bearer of bad news. Instead, he just kept a calm and gentle smile, nodding and chuckling as they talked about giving Alice's brother medicine in some bread. Odd way to do it, but he guessed that sometimes little boys were like dogs and could be tricked like that. He knew he would have been. "No no... you won't need to do that. At least, you shouldn't. It could alter the potion composition and could make it less effective... Just be sure to be there for her as support afterwards, she is going to need you the most then.""Is there anything else that I can do? Or should I just go and get her mother?""Aside from getting her mother here as soon as possible to fill out the paperwork, no..." Kale shook his head, eager to get them home and resting so that he could check on his young charge "... And make sure this one gets cleaned up and lots of sleep. You both can return during visiting hours tomorrow to see Al... I mean Lexi..." He grinned at Alice and ruffled her hair "You be a good girl okay? Go get some sleep. I am going to go check on Lexi and make sure she is comfortable." With that being said, he nodded to the girls mother and headed back towards Alexandra's room. She should be asleep by now.((We can jump to the morning whenever you guys are ready )) Skip to next post
