It was difficult for Vivienne to remember speaking seriously with Ed Pratt and not coming to an unpleasant resolution. All she could really recall was discussing his brother or his children or, once very briefly, his ex-wife. So listening to him describe the contentment of living this far from the city was... like music to her ears. Strange and unanticipated music but it calmed her to know that it didn't have to be all quips and flirting between the both of them.

She glanced at him when he let go of her hand and offered it again. Well. This really was unanticipated.

"It's a pleasure to meet you and your great legs," the wizard grinned and Viv smiled back, raising an eyebrow. Served her right for flashing him her legs in the kitchen.

Obligingly, she took his hand and shook it gently: "Merci, Eddie." A diverted look entered her eyes as she met his green gaze: "Vivienne Thorpe. Call me anything but Mrs Healer," she released his hand and then looked away, moving aside to set her glass down on the garden table. She turned around to face him and sat femininely on the ledge of the table: "It's a pleasure to meet you and your pretty eyes."

He honestly did have a pair of beautiful eyes. Her smile widened and she tilted her head, staring at her date intelligently.

Viv might have taken his hand gently to shake but Eddie thoroughly believed in a strong handshake. It was very often the first impression one got of a person, a handshake. Therefore Eddie always gave a strong, firm handshake to show that he was not a limp wizard that could be pushed around. He was a strong auror and could very easily take you down. This was why he shook Viv’s hand with more firmness before letting go as she did.

The wizard was rather unsure of how to react to the pretty eyes comment. Nothing of his had ever been described as ‘pretty’ before and he wasn’t sure if he liked it. Handsome eyes, intriguing eyes, piercing eyes, they were all acceptable. But pretty? And why pick his eyes? They were a pain, he spent many galleons on potions to make sure they worked properly and covered them in glasses the rest of the time. They were not pretty.

Yet he could somewhat forgive Viv for the comment as she leant against his wooden garden table so gracefully, long legs stretched out before her. Eddie was a sucker for long legs like that.

“Well Vivienne Thorpe, anything but Mrs Healer,” He took a step forward, closing the gap between them before he leant forward to deposit his glass beside hers. “I’m afraid I can’t take those eyes off of you.”

Oh, Ed.

Vivienne didn't move as he leaned forward to place his wine glass next to her, once again very close. Just close enough. And warm, she decided, as he spoke. He appeared warmer and altogether more touchable out here in the evening chill. “I’m afraid I can’t take those eyes off of you.”

That was really all the cue she needed from him because, to be honest, his eyes did all the rest of the work. Trying not to spill either of their drinks, Viv brought her arm forward, slipping it onto his shoulder while her fingers ran playfully through the hair at the back of his head: "I wouldn't have it any other way..." she trailed off and flashed him a quick grin before pulling him forward into a deep, hungry kiss.

He tasted like wine and, somewhere underneath the scent of stew, smelt like an aftershave that she was really beginning adore.
