I expect that this letter must come as a surprise to you, considering my abominable rudeness to you in classes last year. I really am very sorry, for being so unfriendly. I didn't think things could go back to the way they were before . I suppose you know what I mean, I've always been too proud to ask for help but something happened last night. Nevermind. Would you like to come to Woodstock this summer? Mama and Papa would love to have you over. We could try fencing again. I'll be home on the 20th of next month. P.S. it's not just my parents, I'd love to have you over as wellP.P.S. i apologize for the dodgy owl, i didn't bring mineRaine Almasy It had taken some time (not to mention several awkwardly written drafts) for the Gryffindor to finish her letter after their camel ride to Memphis, and even more time to find someone in the hotel who was willing to let her use their owl. Once that was done however, Raine managed to send the message off before the students were called down to the restaurant for dinner. She wasn't satisfied with anything she had written but it had to be sent off before she talked herself out of it. I think I passed most of them though. (Actually, good luck with yours as well, but I'm sure you've done fine.)It's understandable I was delighted to receive your owl, it was really good to hear from you again. And of course I would love to visit again, especially if I can have another attempt of fencing. I've missed talking to you.How about meeting on the 24th, at 11 o'clock? I can come later if you want though- you can send Alba back with a time and date. That way you'll have time to get used to being back in cold, rainy England: It's sunny at the moment, but it won't last, unfortunately.AlexAlex looked at the parchment in front of her with dissatisfaction. She didn't sigh, but the temptation was there, and she was frustrated at how difficult it was to gage response when all you had to go on was a hastily scribbled scrap of parchment. But there was no point trying to second guess everything, so she rolled up the short strip of parchment and tied it to the leg of her own owl, unable to trust the tiny creature that had lurched through her window to make the return journey to Cairo. She wondered if this meant that Raine was going to start returning to her normal self- or if not that, to start to be less self absorbed. But, she reflected as she watched Alba fly away, even if it didn't, it was still an improvement. We can meet at my house and use the courtyard. It's such a long time away but I look forward to seeing you once again! I try not to think about my OWLs but I suspect they went well. We are off to see the Temple of the Apis today, another tour. Thank you for lending me Alba and enjoy your sunshine, Alex!Raine Almasy Skip to next post
