"Let's go," Alice whispered to the fallen Lexi. "I'm going to the woods!" Alice yelled to Mark as she began the walk into the over grown group of trees.

Inside this group of trees was a particular small tree. It looked almost sad, the way it leaned a certain way. On the back was a small engraving. "Here lies, when it falls, the lovely tree that Ms. Alice Hunter and Ms. Lexi McGee have played in since 2003," it said.

The girls loved this tree. It was their tree. the place they hid from parents, the place where they buried their dead pets, and even the place where they once got married. The place where they exchanged rings made of blades of grass. She climbed on to the little branch, which was labeled (Quite literally LABLED) "Alice's spot." On an opposite limb was another sitting spot, labeled, Lexi's spot. And waited.

Lexi sighed, remembering all of the crazy memories they'd shared at this tree. A smile threatened to shine through her gloomy mood. But Lexi refused to smile. She lifted herself up into the tree and looked across at Alice.

"Where should i begin?" Lexi said. "I mean, I could start at the part where it's starting to rain and it's making me sad." She continued, leaning back onto the branch behind her. The hard wood stuck into her back, but she didn't care, a little pain was good every once in a while...

"Smile you crazy! And the rain? The rain was lovely. We can dance. We used to always dance in the rain." Alice said, jumping off her limb and began dancing in the rain. It was a mixture of pointing, and jumping, and smiling, and it all seemed like great fun.

"Don't be silly! You know you want to join me!" She shouted, twirling around.

Lexi smiled, she knew Alice could cheer her up. She was considering telling her that her dancing sucked, but she didn't have the heart to say it. Lexi jumped off of her branch too and swayed to the music playing in her head. She grabbed Alice's hand and they spun around the tree, dancing to their heart's content.

After a few minutes of this silliness and nonsense, Lexi was laughing. Genuine, having fun, ecstatic laughter. And she felt so much better, and it seemed, that for a moment, everything was perfect.

The girls fell to the ground, laughing. Alice's hair was spread about as swigs twirled in her hair. She flipped on to her side, in order to face Lexi. She was so happy. Everything was going great for her.

"So, you were saying something earlier, before we started having fun?"

Lexi's smiled faltered for a moment, "It's nothing," she said trying to shrug her shoulders. "Ouch!" She yelled as her shoulder hit a sharp rock, when she tried to shrug them, she hit it really hard.

She sat up as fast as she could, reaching her hand up to grab her shoulder. "I'm bleeding! Alice I'm bleeding!!!" she yelled. "Ow ow ow ow ow," she kept crying out, getting up to her feet.

"OH MY GOD! THERE'S BLOOD! THERE'S LOTS AND LOTS OF BLOOD!!" Alice screamed, bolting up. She always tended to over react about blood. She ran over to Lexi, and grabbed her free hand pulling her out of the woods. Holding back the need to gag, Alice ran. Soon, she broke into her backyard. MARK! MARK! LEXI'S BLEEDING!!" Alice screamed once more.

Her mother appeared to come into the backyard through the fence, Alice's little brother, Colin, on her shoulders. She walked over to Lexi's cut shoulder, held her wand to it and said, "Episky." The cut was automatically healed, leaving nothing but an ugly blood stain of Lexi's shirt.

"There you go sweetie. Why don't you go home and change your shirt, and then come back for some ice pops? Does that sound good?" Cynthia Hunter said sweetly.

Lexi opened her eyes that before had been squeezed shut. She inspected her shoulder, moved it to make sure it was fine, and relaxed. Only a little (or a lot) of blood was on her shirt. Great, it was ruined... She remembered to answer the question Alice's mom had just asked, "Oh yeah, sure. Can Alice come with me?"

Cynthia Hunter giggled. "Sure, sweetie. You two have been attached to the hip since you were born!" She patted Alice's head, and lifted Colin off of her shoulders, before setting him on the ground.

He sat down on the ground, and said, "Mommy, I want up!" His arms were extended, fingers flexing.

"Let's go," Alice said, walking out of the gate.

"Ok!" Lexi said, running to catch up with Alice. They walked down the street and stopped in front of a small brown house. "C'mon," Lexi said opening the front door. She stepped in and motioned for Alice to follow her. They made their way up to her room.
Lexi swung open her door and walked over to her dresser. She stopped right before it, backed up, and turned to look at the clean clothes in her laundry basket. She saw Alice stifle a giggle as she reached down and picked up a light pink shirt. "Oh no," she said softly. "Mom mixed my whites and reds!"

Alice couldn't hold it any longer. She broke into a fit of laughter. "You- You- finally own PINK clothing!" Alice said between giggles. "PINK AS PIG!!!" She fell to Lexi's bedroom floor quite literally, Rolling on the floor laughing. Pl-Please. Please, Lexi. Just for me. We-Wear this one!" She said, hobbling over to the basket. She picked out a revolting magenta one, held it up, and then began rolling again.

Lexi scrunched up her face as she started yelling, "No way! I'm not wearing it! It's, it's, it's just PINK! AUGH!" Lexi was pacing and she started going pale. She had ALOT of white clothing that was now pink. "This is horrible! Oh my god!"

"Oh come on." Alice said, dropping the shirt, and standing up. "Don't be such a sour-puss. It's fine. So it's a little pink. Is that so bad? No. Pink looks good on you i bet. try some on. maybe you will like it!" Alice remembered back to when her and Lexi were flower girls in one of their cousin's weddings. Both girls had to wear pink, and Lexi looked great.

"Just try on one shirt. It won't be as bad as it seems!"
