I would like to thank you again for your kind sympathies regarding the Runespoor bite that I suffered yesterday in defense of your younger sister.  Because I am certain that you have been wrestling day and night with the guilt from the incident, I want to assure you that while the damage was obviously incurred on your behalf yet again, there appear to be no lasting effects this time.  There is no need for flowers; please allow your conscience to rest easy.

In regards to the incident, we believe the timing may correspond with your brother's upcoming sentencing.  Someone will stop by today to finish the inspection of your home and improve any lacking defenses.  We will need to speak to your sister again; Auror Eleor will contact her separately to arrange an interview.  If you notice anything suspicious in the meanwhile, please contact one of the two of us immediately.

Auror Eleor also sends his sincere apologies for the necessary damage to your door.  While he trusts that your knowledge of magic will be sufficient to repair it, please let us know if that is not the case and we will gladly take up a collection around the office.

Yes, I am eternally grateful to you for doing your job and rescuing my younger sister. I'm rather surprised you managed it without complaint up until now. You must have gone through a traumatic and trying experience, knocking down my front door and acting as a Matador while Auror Eleor disposed of the runespoor. Do the Aurors not sufficiently prepare you for this sort of thing? If your recent career change has caused you undue stress, you have my sympathies. Your life choices are worrisome, I agree.

I understand that someone will need to come by to inspect the house. I'm certain that I will continue to be impressed with Level Two's investigative skills. However, it will not be necessary to interview Abby again. You will conduct your work courteously, professionally, and without imposing on my sister. If you have questions, direct them to me.

Alright, then.  Due to the fact that we will be unable to question your sister and conduct our investigation as planned, Auror Eleor and I have been forced to reach a logical conclusion based on the information that we have at hand. 

Since we have no evidence to the contrary, you are hereby accused of illegal trafficking and possession of the mature Runespoor serpent that was found in your home on 27 May.  Once we secure the warrant on Monday morning, I will meet with Headmistress Snark to inform her of the impending arrest of one of her staff members.  I reckon we should make it in to see you by the time you're in class with the Seventh Years.  Hopefully having to watch one of their professors get dragged off by Aurors won't impact their last few weeks at Hogwarts too much.

Trevelyan,

I can't believe you.

Are you mad? Have you suffered a blow to the head as well as a runespoor bite? I'd greatly appreciate it if you would draw forth your mental reserves and focus on finding the person who targeted Abby, rather than making ridiculous accusations! Since your priorities appear twisted, let me remind you that it was my house that was broken into, my sister that was threatened, and your own foolhardiness that landed you in St. Mungo's.

Your behavior does absolutely nothing to reassure me that you and the other Aurors are capable of conducting the interview with Abby in a professional manner. I won't allow her to be interrogated. If you truly intend on following through with the arrest, I will be forced to send numerous complaints to the Head of the MLE and the Runespoor prosecutors and I doubt they will approve of your careless methods.
