[June 24th] Down the River [Event, Open]

    on October 24, 2011, 05:40:19 PM

Event is the boat ride to Cairo! This opens up Cairo for the trip and the kids are now free to run around the capital. The next event will likely be the camel ride to the Pyramids.

It wasn't that Tapendra didn't like rivers or water - or boats, for that matter. But there was something that just...wasn't helping with this boat today. The weather was nice, considering the season - a steady wind blew them south, and the river was a bit choppy. The boat, with its broad base, rocked gently on the swells. It was hot, but the ship itself was cool with the breeze and water.

It was beautiful; the landscape of the delta was easy on the eyes, the water was a lovely blue, and the boat itself was elegant and rich. The sail was painted with a snake, the railings were carved, and below decks had a pleasant, cool lunch area. The deck was also large and warm, and overall it called for the passengers to relax.

Tapendra wasn't having much luck at that, it seemed. Ten minutes after they raised the sail and headed out into the Nile he was at the far end of the ship, leaning against the rail and feeling distinctly sick.

He hadn't hurled yet - yet -  and he took deep breaths and sank to his knees, heading sticking out between the rails and trying to focus on the water. They'd be on this boat for a good chunk of the day;  he was looking forward to the hotel in Cairo just so he could collapse and eat.

There was a crocodile in the water below him, he realized. He wondered what they did if you threw up on them. Jumped up and bit his face off, possibly.
