Physical Description: Turner Macabee doesn't have what one would call an impressive physique. He's not very tall standing somewhere between 5'8" and 5'9". Long and gangly limbs that haven't quite grown out as much as he like and still to this day end up knocking into something or other if he's not careful. Turner's hair is dark and he tends to keep it fairly short as it tends to curl out of control when it grows too long. Dark brown eyes set into a pleasant enough face, he's needed reading glasses for a while and might have to crossover to wearing them full time.

When he's not in uniform, Turner does have his fair share of jeans and t-shirts, though his casual wear is fairly neat.  This might be a byproduct of still wearing clothing his mother buys him.

Personality Description: Turner's always been pleasant. Even to the point of facing down oncoming conflict with a light heart and a better option. A trait that has come to get him out of quite a few pickles.

This hasn't come from just inborn niceness, but a long hard rode of being an odd ball and making it work for him. In fact, Turner will often make jokes about himself before anyone has the chance to start making fun of him. Generally he just likes to make people laugh, even if it has to be at his expense.

Turner is considered something of a nerd and absorbs himself in all things related to school.  Often times he'd find himself spinning off on a tangent that no one else particularly cared about, but has since learned when he's losing his audience. When he's nervous however, it can result in a fall back to earlier times to include falling all over himself as if he were thirteen again.

History: Turner Macabee's story starts before he was even born. His parents, both muggles, met and married, but after a while found they had problems conceiving children. Miraculously after a series of miscarriages, Grace's final pregnancy held longer then any of the previous ones. However, Oliver would never get to see the birth of his son before a car accident took his life. It was a month shy of the rainy day in November when Turner was born.

His father's brother Matt stepped in to be the father figure Turner needed and eventually his mother and uncle were married. Turner knew from a young age that he was very different then most of his school mates and it had nothing to do with his strange family situation. Or the fact that he could some how trip over absolutely nothing at all. For one thing not many children could say they'd fallen out of their third story flat window without even a scratch to remember the occasion by.

When he turned eleven however he recieved a letter by owl which was followed by a visit from an elderly, oddly dressed woman he'd never met before. She introduced herself as the Headmistress of a school that didn't sound as if it existed, but some how explained the impossible things that sometimes happened to him. Imagine, and entire magical school filled with people that could do the things he did! There he would fit in.

Except that wasn't exactly the way it worked out, at least not at first. He was sorted into Hufflepuff house, which among some of the less nice people of other houses was the butt of many jokes. Throughout his youth the horrible combination of being considered a bit of a freak (due to his being a wizard it turns out) and the added klutziness gave him no points to his popularity. It did however teach him coping skills. He'd learned making fun of himself before anyone else had a chance to kept him from being the target of the more horrible pranks students would play.

What Turner lacked in coordination in general, he more then made up for in his classes. He was considered something of a protege in spell work, in particular Transfiguration. He was also very good at coming up with spells on the spot. He also had the unfortunate ability to not remember exactly what he'd done. A fine example was accidentally turning an unlucky student's hair red. No matter what the school nurse did the previously blonde girl's hair firmly remained tinted pink for weeks afterward. He's since learned to control his magic (for the most part), except in times of real anxiety.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Turner is all about helping people, even if those people don't take him all that seriously.  He bears and grins through even the harshest times and would do just about anything for a friend.

Writing Sample:

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Turner is very much the absent minded professor type, he can be quite brilliant in wandwork, but fails atrociously at always remembering exactly what brilliant thing he did.  He's a Hufflepuff, muggleborn, an only child, and chaos follows him everywhere he goes... which is to say isn't always his fault.
