I love writing criminals. Not necessarily evil masterminds. But greedy, misguided, robbers, frauds, thugs, and smugglers.2. Secondary Characters were implemented for temporary or background characters. And so, I am going to make a Disposable Baddie! Expressly for the purpose of committing a crime against a lucky AO character, and giving the Aurors someone to track down, arrest, and punish!So..Q: Who wants to get burgled, attacked, defrauded, swindled, terrorrized, cursed, or otherwise bothered?Q: Who wants to catch me? I'll give you a good run-around - oh, you'll earn the collar, but it's yours for the taking! With all my in-depth, long-term plots, it'd be fun to play some Law & Order shorter ones. Who's game!? I'm really excited about this idea. I'm talking physical or magical: I don't care either way. She doesn't deserve it, of course, but I really want some drama/conflict for her. Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #2 on October 22, 2011, 09:12:43 PM Oh, I'll need a reason! Even if it's just greed. How about getting mugged? It would certainly be a magical mugging. Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #3 on October 22, 2011, 09:19:06 PM Yes! Magical mugging! Because she looks vulnerable and loaded. (Though, she'll only have her wand, strawberry chap-stick and a bit of money on her.) Though I'd like there to be an opportunity for her to fight back a little And maybe have her ending up with a severe injury of some sort? Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #4 on October 22, 2011, 09:52:28 PM I'll send ya to St. Mungo's, no worries! We can plot a little more in depth once I rustle up the character.Anyone else? Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #5 on October 22, 2011, 10:16:30 PM Any cross criminal interactions possible? That would enable Dotty. Otherwise I've always wanted to see to what extent Casey would fight back in self defense if mugged. Or Heliotrope if she ever makes it back to London and the extended area. I'd offer Drea but I have enough grief planned for her as it is and she would probably be traumatized for life, never going outside again. Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #7 on October 22, 2011, 11:31:02 PM I was just saying to Sparky that this might be a good chance to give the Auror Trainees something to do that is less "Serious Business". If he's a more small time criminal it could be good practice for the trainees on learning the basics of investigation, apprehension, etc. They could get a chance to work with the Hit Wizards, etc. on the case since it's not something as hardcore as the aurors are generally focused on (at least not yet). It's just an idea (And it may be a bad one, I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and running out of steam.) Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #8 on October 23, 2011, 02:30:47 AM Oooooh! I have an idea! Maybe your guy could try and mug Ventus and find that he's bitten of much more than he can chew when facing a man who controls the dead?Or if he commits enough crimes it can be big bad Apollo that comes and arrests him? Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #9 on October 23, 2011, 08:41:03 AM Cillian needs something to do. He could get mugged, have his girlfriend terrorized, or his store vandalized (Cillian's owns but doesn't run the Inner Eye in Hogsmede)And if we go with the trainees taking on the case Berkeley could be their superior officer on it. Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #10 on October 23, 2011, 11:38:25 AM LOTS of great ideas! I'm going to go with one simple idea for the first one, and maybe build to something bigger for the next time?I'm going to create a baddie to do a series of muggings - Jazelle, Dotty or Casey, and Ventus. I'll work out with each victim how far we go with each mugging to support their own story with the characters. But ultimately, you guys will report the crimes to the Aurors! Who... can send the kidlets out to get me. I'll be sure to leave good clues along the way. And then ya'll can catch him in his FOURTH crime? Which could be burglarizing the Inner Eye and in the process bonking Cillian?I don't want to over plan. I'll get down to creating that character and getting in touch via PM! FUN TIMES GUYS THANKS! Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #12 on October 29, 2011, 11:36:58 PM So given how well this turned out for Dotty http://absitomen.com/index.php?topic=9282.0 *sarcasm mode* I feel there's more plotting that can be done in two or so threads (hope you don't mind Sarah, thought I would keep the Vesta inspired stuff together)The immediate aftermath is Dotty getting to the Inkwell, eventually changing back in front of Dietrich (where her organ-affecting curse comes back with a vengeance) until she needs to go to St. Mungo's. Way for a healer and a copper, maybe an Auror trainee, to eventually get involved at a St. Mungo's thread. Dotty would be a loud patient, waiting more of the painkiller potions are telling all the atrocities she was forced through. Probably not the most compelling stories of victimhood, and with no clear testimony or charges, with Vesta lost in the wind, auror-trainee doesn't think much can be done? Doesn't believe Dotty? Write "mugger using illegal spells, be suspicious" in their notes? Who wants in?I know Vesta won't become a credible threat until there have been more victims. Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #13 on October 30, 2011, 09:53:38 AM do you mind Sam getting in on investigating this? ( Maybe Sam and one or more Auror Trainees investigating?) it's just that Sam hasn't exactly been able yet to see a crime through to capture of the criminal yet, and I'm concerned he looks incompetant, when he very much isn't. Skip to next post Re: Disposable Baddie Reply #14 on October 30, 2011, 11:17:05 AM I've been keeping track of the clues that Vesta left behind on that, what could be picked up on by pursuers and help them on their hunt. Sure, Josh! This case is specifically an easy one for the Trainees, so we'll need to plot you in. But I also plan to do this again, with another secondary once Vesta's done - it can be a bigger bad and Sam can take him down.(IMO, NONE of the Aurors look incompetent to me! Certainly not Sam. It's just the way RPing goes sometimes - hard to finish plots and most baddies don't want to get caught.) Skip to next post
