Physical Description:
Meg has brunette hair that reaches down to a length a little bit below her shoulders when fully down. She tends to keep her hair down, or simply up in a ponytail. Otherwise, she does not try to style her hair in any form, unless if a special occasion depends on it. Her eyes are a dark hazel that expresses her current emotions. Therefore, her emotions could clearly be seen just by looking at her eyes.

Meg has both of her ears pierced twice. The first piercing is at the ear lobe, and she usually wears silver drop earrings. The second piercing is in the upper cartilage, where she usually has a small blue hoop earring in the hole. She does not try to flaunt herself, and she does not try to draw attention to herself. Therefore, her earrings are usually the only jewelry that she would wear.

Meg stands at about 5 feet, 6 inches, and of average weight. Her face has a few pimples on it that she does not try to conceal. She does not like make-up, and believes that she would look fake if she wears it. She would rather appear natural with pimples, then fake.

Meg likes wearing muggle clothes rather than wizarding robes. The uniform, on the other hand, she does not mind wearing. Normally, she would stay with the uniform on, unless she preferred to change it. Her favorite clothes include shirts, t-shirts, sweaters, tank tops, sleeve-less tops, spaghetti-strap tops, skirts, jeans, boots, sandals, and flats. She does not normally dress to look good for anyone; rather, she dresses in whatever she is comfortable in. Thus, she tends to stay away from anything that would make her uncomfortable, unless if there is a special occasion.

Personality Description:
Meg is generally a kind and caring person. She does care for the people around her, and does not easily hate people. She believes that there is good in every person, and sticks by that. Therefore, she uses that as an excuse for why she cares for people around her. Yes, this does even include her enemies. Of course, it would probably cause her enemies to hate her even more, since she would show them the same respect as her friends. However, once it is abundantly clear that someone does not like her, she does not like them back. In her mind, she follows the central rule, "treat others like you want to be treated." This causes her to give everyone a chance to show her how good they could be. Once this chance is taken, one would find that it would require a lot of effort from that person to show how that person could be her friend.

Megan has a friendly personality, and is willing to talk to anyone whom would like to talk to her. She is outgoing, and is always willing to start a conversation. She likes to make new friends, and would enjoy befriending anyone who would like to be her friend as well.

Meg is loyal to her friends, and would accompany her friends anywhere. She would be willing to break the rules if she needed to for a friend. She would hate to see a friend be unhappy with her, and she would do anything to try to keep that friend to be stay her friend. She never wants one of her friends to be doing something late at night, and getting in trouble alone. So, she would fully go with her friend, even if she gets in trouble. All that matters to her, is that she was with her friend, showing her support.

Meg likes to play the sports she does, because she sees them as fun. She could get competitive while playing a sport, thus making her drive towards winning. Besides muggle sports, she also likes wizarding Qudditch. She likes watching it, since she is a muggle, and never saw anything like it before. At first, she self-confidence at the sport was low. However, she quickly learned to like the sport, and wished to join her house's Qudditch team.

Despite that Meg is a muggle, she does not act like a muggle too much at school. The only thing that trips off someone would be her consistency with wearing muggle clothing. Otherwise, she does not act like a muggle. Over the summer, she tries to read her school books before going to school. This way, she feels like she could understand the material. Thus, she is intelligent in her subjects. Occasionally, she suffers from depression due to her extensive use of medication while a child. She tends to bottle up, and not talk to anyone. This only lasts for a few days, but it is a constant reminder to her that she does not exactly belong in the wizarding world.

Meg enjoys drawing and painting. Her artistic side is shown here. She normally keeps her drawings a secret, since she is afraid of ridicule. However, her drawings are not that bad. She also enjoys writing, having written several poems. She has started on a small fictional story about her years growing up. Despite all of this, her confidence has taken a toll on her. She lacks in that area, and can be seen questioning how well she has done something.

History:
Megan was born to John and Erica (Helshaw) Ruitz on April 15th. Her mother is a muggle school teacher, and her father works in an office of a company. Both parents had no idea that their daughter was a witch, or their son being a wizard for that matter. Her mother and father were not magical, and had no idea that their children were magical.

So, Meg was growing up as a muggle. But, when Meg first began showing signs of being a witch, she was constantly confused. She kept moving items by accident, and sometimes her books would fly up in the air. She asked her parents why she kept doing it, and her parents sent her to a psychiatrist. There, the shrink believed her to have an active imagination, and possible hallucinations. So, he prescribed her some medication. But, this medication kept Meg relaxed, with her temper sometimes rising too high.

The medication appeared to be working for a year. After that year, yet another magical event happened. Meg was sitting in the cafeteria at school, and she was being teased that she wanted to be on top of her school work by another girl. So, a blue light shone from Meg, and hit the other girl. It only took a second for her to realize what happened. Afterward, she ran away quickly, leaving the other girl lying half unconscious. However, nearly the entire school saw what happened.

So, a phone call was made to Meg's parents. Meg was quickly taken off of her medication, and quickly sent to the psychiatrist again. The shrink tried to get them to think that their daughter was crazy. He wanted to send her off to an insane asylum. Baffled, her parents tried several other psychiatrists. Each of them said the same thing, until one actually suggested something different. This shrink never saw anything like what happened to Meg before, so he wanted to send her to a boarding school, where she could constantly be monitored. She was set to start this boarding school in September.

However, Meg's family received a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her parents were yet again baffled. Her parents began to think that Meg was magical, too. So, they quickly canceled Meg's appointment to the boarding school, and kept her home from muggle school, too.

Throughout her first three years at Hogwarts, Meg was able to make friends with the other wizards and witches. She was not afraid if anyone found out that she was a muggle. After all, that was exactly who she was, and thought that it did not necessarily mean anything bad. She had to work extra hard to understand the material, and to get good grades in her classes. This was a slow process, but after a while, she managed to get used to the magic and its various nature.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:
Meg is creative, enjoying painting and writing. Even though she does not exactly like to show her creativity off to everyone, she does enjoy doing it. She is intelligent and hard-working in her classes, even though she does not always display that fact. She tries to treat everyone the same way, giving everyone a fair chance at a first meeting with her.

Writing Sample:
Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.
Meg was sitting at a table in the library, doing some homework. She knew that she should soon head back to the Ravenclaw Tower. Besides, she did not feel like it yet. Within the hour, she knew that she should be back up to the Tower. She had her Ravenclaw tie loose around her neck, and still had the standard uniform on herself. She looked down at her white button up shirt, and the skirt she was wearing. Yes, it was not her favorite outfit, but she would wear it if she had to. She did not complain, and was not about to. Her laziness was by no mean a ground to start complaining on.

Meg pushed a piece of her blond hair out of her face while she was writing an essay for Transfiguration. However, as she was working on her essay, she heard commotion coming from nearby. At first, she tried to ignore it. Usually, it was just some immature students trying to get attention. However, she started to hear faint spurts of trash talking going on. Her hazel eyes scanned for a prefect to handle it, but she did not see any. She shook her head lightly and rolled her eyes.

Meg stood up from where she sat, trying to see where the noise was coming from. Noticing that the noise was coming from behind a bookshelf, she walked over, but stopped before she could be seen. She listened to the conversation for a while, not doing anything yet. She smiled lightly as the female voice seemed to be able to hold her own ground. However, that soon was diminished. She enclosed her hand around her wand. She forced herself not to jump out and hex who was on the other side. After all, the voices seemed younger than her. So, she figured that the two people were first years. On top of it, that battle was not her battle. So, she did not have to help. In addition, nothing actually affected her. So, she decided not to fight.

After a little bit, Meg noticed that the talking had stopped. She peered behind the bookcase, noticing that the male student must have walked away. Indeed, she immediately realized that the female voice that she heard was a first year's. However, she did not recognize the first year. Well, that is, the ink managed to hide the girl's identity.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Generally, Meg is a kind and caring person. She gives everyone a chance to be her friend, and she is willing to be a friend to that person. She is intelligent and hardworking, trying her hardest to fit in with the rest of the wizarding society. However, her depression that she suffers occasionally serves as a constant reminder to her being a muggle. She is competitive, which drives her towards winning at a sport. She is creative, thus liking to draw and write. However, she does not like to show her creativity to the rest of the student population.
