Outfit

Remembering Day was a big deal.  It was an even bigger deal this year.  She had woken up especially early to attend the memorial service, which was no easy task, considering it was at seven in the morning and she needed at least an hour and a half to get ready, and that was rushing it.  Thankfully, she had done all of her toilette the previous evening, so all she had to do was freshen up and put on the outfit that she had gotten especially for the occasion.  Now, she knew it wasn’t what Remembering Day was about, but at the same time, she was quite sure she didn’t want to look bad. 

In front of everyone else, and well, some people in particular, she wanted to make sure she looked alright.  She went the extra mile, naturally, and after the service, which was sad, of course, and seeing her parents for a little while, she went off to find Devlin.  It was going to be their first time really in public, in front of such a mass of people, and, to be frank, she was excited.  She didn’t quite want him to meet her parents… they had only just started dating and her father was a rather imposing man… It just wouldn’t have gone well.

She also didn’t want her brothers around.  They were such pests, and really, she didn’t want to deal with them.  They would have tattled on her if they saw her with Devlin and if she could be sure they would be going away, she wouldn’t have to handle them at all.  And Neely wasn’t going to snitch her out.  She had sent her away too, though not maliciously, just because she wanted some time with her new boyfriend.  It felt so odd to think that about anyone except Gavin (the fantasy she still, to some degree, harbored), but Devlin wasn't a bad guy - he just wasn't... a boyfriend.

He was a good friend, an amazing kisser, and incredibly attractive, but even Jordyn knew they didn't have the chemistry to be a pair that would last beyond what they both really wanted.  She could accept that and it didn't perturb her too much, they just had some fun and got everything they wanted through this.  It was perfect. 

So, after separating herself from her parents in Hogsmeade and getting changed from her memorial outfit to more comfortable clothes, she stood at the meeting spot they had decided on the previous day, and Jordyn glanced down at her slim, silver watch.  He was running a few minutes late, but she supposed he was a boy he probably overslept or something.  She just wanted to spend time with him before they had to do a call for the reenactment.  They’d probably get in trouble for interacting too much during that… Bellatrix and Greyback probably weren’t likely to interact during the battle… much less… canoodle.

Whatever the case, she exhaled softly and tapped the toe of her high heel boot.  Tossing her dark hair, she licked her lips - coconut lip-gloss always tasted so good! Thankfully, she had the tube in her little purse so she could reapply it when she managed to lose most of it - how, she would not say, but it would be gone at some point.  If she didn't ingest all of it first... Looking up, she sighed, where was he?

Outfit

His mop of greasy hair and sideburns covered by a fedora and his dark ringed eyes hidden by a pair of aviator sunglasses, Devlin jogged towards his meeting place with Jordyn. Unlike many of the other students in the reenactment, Devlin hadn't gotten out of his character, Fenrir, since rehearsal. He firmly believed in getting deep into character, which was why he was even wearing fangs on his incisors still. He was Fenrir Greyback today.

He was also... in that vein... Jordyn's boyfriend. That is, in that he was playing a part. Granted the part had some niiiice benefits (as anyone who had seen Jordyn would contest to) but that was all it was. He held no romantic feelings towards her and she towards him. THey were each just a means to an end for each other.

However, though this be the facts, Devlin couldn't help but smile as he strolled up behind her lazily, admiring the view. Sure they would date for a bit until the time came for them to put their plans into fruition, but it would be an enjoyable time. Jordyn was smart, resourceful, cunning and beautiful, all traits the Devlin appreciated in his girlfriends. If he weren't trying to prove a point to another such girl and if she wasn't obsessed with one of his best friends, things might be different. He smiled breifly at the thought as he walked up to her and slid his arms around her waist without a word, biting her shoulder lightly with his bewitched fangs.

"I vant to suck your blooood..." He whispered in her ear before kissing her cheek and adding "... Though I suppose Greyback would have said something like 'I want to eat you up...' Which can be arranged if you ask the right questions..." He chuckled as he grinned against her cheek.

Jordyn was growing tired of waiting, for the most part.  She didn’t like to be held up when she could have found her friends and did things on their day off, but she figured she would give Devlin the benefit of the doubt.  After all, they were supposed to be playing at this whole boyfriend-girlfriend thing.  Though she didn’t like him like that, she was attracted to him physically, and he was a smashing friend.  The attraction was most assuredly mutual, but they both needed one another for reasons other than romantic attachment (at least to one another) and it would be fun! 

It had already started on a fun note, she couldn’t imagine it would turn another way – though she could get pretty nasty if he didn’t show up.  Licking her lips, the brunette glanced at her watch again, thoroughly ready to throw in the towel and leave when she felt arms go about her waist and something putting pressure on her shoulder – two definitely sharper points cutting into the blue fabric of her shirt.  She was a little shocked at first until she felt some greasy hair against the side of her face – a little gross, but it was Devlin and he was Fenrir, and she laughed as he whispered in her cheek.

“Yes, I don’t believe I signed up to be in the company of a vampire…” she noted, putting her pale hands on top of his more surly looking ones.  She was most assuredly an English girl next to him, with her pale skin and thin appendages.  Looking down at her fingers, she was fond of the bright red nail polish she used for the occasion – figuring Bellatrix would wear something like that.  She had wanted to just do the tips – like a morbid French manicure, but thought it would be a little gross and her parents wouldn’t have approved.  They were already none too thrilled about the role she had picked. 

But, she wanted to be something scary, something she never would have been ever.  Someone who broke the law wasn’t Jordyn Dimbleby: so she took the role of Bellatrix Lestrange.  They thought it was a bad reflection on them and their name – but she was going to die amazingly and make the woman look absolutely nutters – which she was.  “You know,” she smirked, “If Fenrir ever touched the real Bellatrix like this… I’m pretty sure she would have Avada Kedavra’d him into the next millennium… since he wasn’t even worth licking her boots…”  She paused, “But if you played your cards right…” a small giggle.  Her parents would be so embarrassed!

"I'll pass..." Devlin smirked, pulling away and ruffling up her hair playfully. He wouldn't lick any girl's boots, no matter what he may get out of it. It was a matter of personal, and masculine, pride. Besides, his feelings towards Jordyn were of fleeting attraction and mutual goals, nothing else. "... Even if they are leather, I don't think Fenrir would have either. I assume his taste was in girls that are fleshier and less street rat crazy..."

He chuckled as he took a few steps away from her, lest she punch him for his insolance. Remembering his ulterior motive for the date that day, Devlin's smirk widened as he added "... Though if she had been using him to get to Voldemort... Who knows... She might be kissing up to him..." He looked her over and winked "In more ways then one..."

Settling back at her side in a comfortable gait, Devlin considered how he could drop the bomb on her without having her go all Bellatrix on him. He had seen her act in the auditions and knew that she had it in her. The threat of the AKing was not too far off mark. Taking a deep breath he put his hands behind his head in an uncharacteristic show of trust as he said nonchalantly "... Nice day out... Birds are singing... The grass is green... We are meeting up with Gavin and Nicola for lunch... the sky is blue..." He tried not flinch.

Laughing softly, Jordyn knew she enjoyed Devlin’s company beyond what she needed him for.  That did not mean, of course, that she was getting attached or anything of the sort, but she was suitably amused by him and it made all the time they were supposed to spend together as ‘significant others’ more fun than if they had to pretend to like one another.  Acting was so much easier when the partner was that much more agreeable.  “You should be lucky I’m not fleshier,” Jordyn commented with a sort of edge.  “I could be Miss Piggy Peg of Hufflepuff fame,” she pointed out.

She had nothing against the girl personally, but she could have stood to have lost a few pounds.  She might have actually been considered cute if she did.  Jordyn almost felt bad for her, but then saw her shove one too many chocolate éclairs in her face at dinner, so that pity disappeared. Crossing her arms though, she realized that she was not totally thrilled with him for being late and it appeared he knew that – and he also seemed to have something else to say that wasn’t that pleasing.

And rolling her eyes, Jordyn snorted. “Fenrir only wishes.  However, I’m fairly sure the more endearing thing she could have done would have been a bit more painful,” she attempted to look down her nose at him, but he was too tall for that.  It was rather awkward to be condescending to one bigger than one, but she just shook her head and rolled her eyes, less subtle than what she tried before, but more effective in the long run.  “I guess she could give him a kiss or two… if she was feeling generous…” she giggled softly.

The giggle died in her throat as he got a little weird.  He put his hands behind his head and started commenting on the weather?  The weather of all things?! Was she really that boring… she ticked through the things they could have talked about besides that – and while she was doing it – she was almost convinced to go along with it and walk away as he spouted off about the colors of nature and whatnot when her cheeks turned red, to use his pattern of talking.  “We are going to do what?” she cut at him, walking up to push his shoulder with her right hand .

She wasn’t going to hit him, but she needed to do something physical. “Devlin Matthews! You can’t just spring these things on me!  I don’t look good enough to meet with Gavin – and the beast will probably notice.”  She was dreading this already.  Glaring at him, “what were you thinking?!  When?  Do I have time to look my best?" She didn't even realize how offensive that might have seemed - but really, though she tried to be as best she could all the time, she had to be extra pretty to show Gavin what he could have had instead of that icky thing.

“We are going to do what?”

He winced as she shrieked at him, stumbling back dramatically at her push. Bloody hell, she was loud. Did she want the entire castle to know about their plan? He raised his hand and tried to shush her a little, glancing around at the others walking past them. Only a few paid them any mind, but just one person was enough to start a rumor and destroy the mission. His attempt did little to calm her.

“Devlin Matthews! You can’t just spring these things on me!  I don’t look good enough to meet with Gavin – and the beast will probably notice. what were you thinking?!  When?  Do I have time to look my best?"

"Ok first of all..." He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close, as though she were just a friend rather then a girlfriend. Devlin knew he had to word this correctly or face her wrath, and this time he knew it wouldn't be just a push at the shoulder and a shriek. "... You have seen Nicola right? Not a bad looking girl... but she isn't even a blip on the radar of hotness... while you, my dear, are an aircraft carrier... And I mean that in hotness, not in size..." He paused for a breath before adding with a smile "...How are these muggle references catching you? No?" He sighed.

"Look, as long as you are with me, Gavin isn't going to see you as anything but my girlfriend. Neither is Nicola.... This is your chance to gather intelligence. Figure out what he likes... what he hates... etcetera etcetera..." His silver tongue was working over time as he massaged her shoulder reassuringly, murmuring a little so no one else could over hear "... This way you can be prepared when we break up. You don't want to be caught off guard do you?" He knew the answer to that. She was, after all, a perfectionist.
