It seems that Minister of Magic Marcus Annwyl will have to defend his post to the Wizengamot before summer's end.  Current Chair of the Board of Hogwarts School Governors Persepolis Zephyr has announced today that she will seek the post of Minister of Magic at the earliest possible date.

"It's time we moved forward into a time of new life and peace.  The war is over and our civilization should be thriving, but instead we've seen inner turmoil and a stagnation of traditional values and forward-looking advancement.  Now is the time for the Ministry to be served by a leader, not a warlord."

Zephyr has been Chair of the Governors since 2006 after serving the body since 2001.  Before that, she served in many local posts in her town and county, always somehow involved in public service.

"I do not have a Ministry background, nor was I an Auror," she said, directly referencing Annwyl's major qualifications.  "But my time at Hogwarts has taught me the value of fresh minds, optimism and constant learning.  I know that witches and wizards will agree with me when I say that the way forward is not with might, but with magic!"

In order to win Minister of Magic, Zephyr must earn the esteem of 7 Wizengamot Elders.  Once her nomination is secured, Zephyr will have to convince the Wizengamot that she has the public's swaying support.  If, and only then, will the Wizengamot remove the seated Minister Annwyl and appoint Zephyr.
