[June 6] Nice Night for a Stroll [Mimi] on October 07, 2011, 06:21:28 PM Ah how nice it was to stroll around the corridors after hours on a warm summer night. And a weekend no less; this night couldn't go better unless he was torching something he hated. Which, naturally, was the plan. Church, who had been cleaning out his trunk had come across multiple old letter from Jeanette, and once the pangs of regret and sorrow had passed, he resolved to go burn them in the Room of Requirement.Church always loved visiting the room. He himself was always amazed at some of the various things that appeared. One looked like it had suffered a great fire, one seemed to be a music room, one almost looked like a training floor. But his all time favorite had to be when the room transformed itself into a massive study, packed with an incredibly wide variety of books. So, even though it was after hours, Church stepped out of Ravenclaw tower and headed down the halls. Lucky thing it was on the same floor as him, minimize his exposure. He was about ready to turn the last corner into the hallway with that insane looking tapestry when he heard footsteps. Church stopped and listened. Quickly noting that they were coming closer, he stepped back into the shadows and wordlessly cast a disillusionment charm on himself. He stood still and watched as someone came around the corner and made their way down the hall in the direction Church had just come. Vaguely he thought it looked like Leon. Well, whatever, he was Head Boy, he could do what he wanted. Church stood and waited until the footsteps had died out, made sure no other ones were coming in any direction, and swung around the corner. With a slight flick of his wand he removed the charm, no need to look like a chameleon now. Letters in hand he readied himself for the normal approach to gain entrance...But before he closed his eyes to focus on what he wanted, Church noted that there was already a door in the wall. "The hell?" he muttered to himself. A sudden thought washed over him, and he glanced back down the hall towards Ravenclaw Tower. Leon probably had just left the room, which was still showing itself. So he had just left a rendezvous with someone. How interesting.Smiling to himself at the prospects, Church backed up and leaned against the wall opposite of the door. It was only a matter of time until whoever it was also left the room. Leon had just left to go to bed. He had a test the next morning and it was a wonder that he had even come to meet her that night. The Russian doll closed her eyes and imagined that she could still hear the last strains of the duet they had been playing. They had been working on it for the past few months and they had just gotten it perfect. It was euphoria. Humming to herself, she picked up her sheet music and looked around the stone chamber. She sighed deeply. This was probably one of the last times they’d meet in the Room of Requirement. After that, summer would come and whatever they had… It would be out in the open or… well… gone. Her ethereal green eyes shone with a bright light as she walked out of the room. Then her Slytherin senses kicked in. There was someone else there. Spinning around, she saw who it was almost immediately. “Church!” Skip to next post Re: [June 6] Nice Night for a Stroll [Mimi] Reply #2 on October 08, 2011, 12:58:14 PM An eyebrow quirked. "Demitria!" Church responded in his best impression of surprise. Actually, he was surprised a little. The idea of the Head Boy and Demitria, well any girl really, sneaking off to the room of requirement was fairly scandalous. Not that Church cared one way or the other. It was their business after all."Nice night for a stroll, isn't it?" Church asked casually as he stood and stretched slightly. "Have fun in the Room?" Smiling he folded the letters and shoved them into his back pocket. Slowly he took a few steps towards the Slytherin girl. "It's really none of my concern, but I must say I approve," Church said vaguely with a nod back towards Ravenclaw."After all, Leon is a pretty great guy." The anxiety was gone in a heartbeat. It was Church. Of course he wouldn't. After all, how would he explain his being out after hours in the first place? No, people who didn't want to get caught wouldn't be the ones to tattle. The only thing that was disconcerting was that he now knew about her and Leon. Honestly, what was there to know? Other than the fact that both of them were meeting secretly in the Room of Requirement. Oh, the rumor mill would have a field day with that one. It consoled her a little to know that even if the rumor mill caught wind, at least Kitty wouldn't dissaprove. It was the Head Boy after all. Only the best for the best. There was only one thing. Nothing was going on. At Church's words, the normally confident Mimi blushed slightly. "Yes, a lovely night, isnt it. And yes, I had a wonderful time." Let him beleive what he wanted to believe. She wasn't going to spill all her secrets, yet. Skip to next post Re: [June 6] Nice Night for a Stroll [Mimi] Reply #4 on October 09, 2011, 01:33:09 AM "Oh good," Church said smiling lightly. It was always nice to know girls had good times with the boys of their choice. The thought of a guy ever not showing a girl a lovely time sort of... well. It sickened him really. Church imagined that every girl was a princess in some manner, and should be treated as such. Alas, that didn't seem to be enough for some girls..."So," Church stated flatly, looking into Demitria's eyes. "How long has this," he made a motion in the direction Leon had gone, "been going on? If you don't mind me asking." For Church was very curious. While he didn't know Leon all that well, he found it interesting that the two would get together.Perhaps it wasn't though. It was in all likeliness possible that they had met over, say, music. Or it could be the case that Leon was simply captivated by Demitira's looks. For even Church, who generally didn't notice one way or the other, had to admit that she was quite pleasant to look at. But all this rapid-fire thinking made him feel slightly intrusive with his earlier question."Actually, y'know what," Church said sliding a hand into his back pocket and pulling out the letters. "If you don't want to answer I understand." Slowly he held the letters in front of him, eyes shifting down to reread some of the words. "It's your business and I really shouldn't ask..." he said quietly. But it was Church. He could be bristly. He was not a good influence... In fact, he was a terrible influence. (But who was she kidding, she wasn't an angel herself.) Nevertheless, coming from Church, the simple words meant a lot. The Russian knew that the Ravenclaw was a sweetheart. He usually didn't show it, but he was. So, instead of bristling, she simply smiled and sighed. Her mood changed slightly when Church looked at her flatly. Now, he was being instrusive. What right did he have to ask her anything? If the rest of the school didn't have much of an idea, what made him think he was special enough for her to tell him? She was going to say something rather biting, but the Ravenclaw 6th year sent her a look that silenced her. It was almost affectionate... Then he retracted his previous statement, simply opting to back off of the matter. This made the Russian sigh once again. She took a pale piano hand and swept a stray hair out of her face. This was frustrating. By him backing off, it made her want to tell her. Psycology was a bitch. "It's fine. Nothing is really going on. We just enjoy eachother's company. One day he found the door to my Music Room... and it progressed from there. There's not really that much to tell." That was only half the truth. But Mimi wasn't about to let himo know that. "What do you have there?" Not that he would say anything, or even care in the slightest. But perhaps for better or for worse he found himself rather distracted by the letters in his hand. He knew he shouldn't be reading them, he really did. But he couldn't help it.A rather uncharacteristic "Huh?" was his response to the question she posed. His mind struggled for a few seconds to remind him where he was. "Oh," Church said doing his best to cover up his mental lapse. "Just kindling for a fire," he crumpled the letters in his hand slightly."They're really quite the read," he said bitterly. "At least they are if the romance doesn't make you sick." Church gave a shrug and a rather crooked smile, the hand that held the letters crumpling them up some more. "What a waste of time..." Skip to next post
