[June 1] I Hope You Know How to Unclog a Shower...

He wasn't sure if this was a good idea, admittedly. But he'd agreed to it, for some stupid reason.

It was after work, and the sun had already vanished for the day. The flat was lit both by simple lamps and the lights from the busy street below. It wasn't a big place, and Colin's stuff certainly dominated it. The gory posters on the walls, the motorcycle sitting against the wall by the door (which currently was also acting as a hat and coat hook, as Colin's robes hung off one of the handlebars) and the dog toys one found underfoot certainly destroyed any chance of his flat being stylish.

Johann as a roommate...well, having someone else in the apartment, after MacDuff's invasion, was both a relief and a concern. It was nice to be able to blame bumps in the night on your roommate, but at the same time - MacDuff would just bust in and kill Johann, if he wanted to.

Moxie seemed excited, at least - or just confused that Colin was rearranging for the first time in a few years. His flat wasn't messy, persay, but it certainly wasn't organised by any stretch of the imagination. The couch...which was also his bed, usually... was currently actually in couch mode, and he'd actually attempted to make it look like the piles of pillows were on purpose and not...piles of pillows pretending to be a couch's back and arms.

"Calm down, Mox," he told the dog, as she flopped on the mattress and wiggled, tongue lolling. He found her rubber bone and tossed it to her, and soon the apartment was full of squeaking as the toy protested her eager chewing.

There were footsteps coming up the stairs outside the door, and he walked over to open it, running a hand through his hair.

"I hope you didn't bring a lot," he said, stepping onto the landing and cocking his head, watching the dark-haired man below. "'Cause there's not a lot of room as is."

"No, just the one bag." Johann informed Colin with a smile. It was slung over his shoulder, the inside of it charmed to hold far more. A few months ago it had carried a whole crate of wine for Hannah, which had earned him some time on her sofa, only, things had got increasingly difficult. Johann had decided for the sake of their friendship and his neck, Hannah definitely needed her own space, especially with Azize making eyes at her.

In between times, Johann had kipped on sofas and spare beds throughout his contacts in the Ministry, being careful not to draw too much attention to the fact he'd not quite pinned himself down to renting somewhere himself. It wasn't as if he couldn't afford it with the Ministry wage (now increasing slightly as Gabrielle and Johann were a little more relaxed in each other's presence) plus the generous payment of Vedir. He just... well.. it was lonely to live alone, even if he would never admit it.

Johann stepped inside Colin's space. The flat he knew well from them drinking beer and Johann's fascination of how Colin's motorbike worked. He had no great intention to ride it, or be passenger, he was just intrigued at how it worked without magic. And, it helped that Colin looked mighty fine riding it, oh dear.

"Hello Moxie." Johann greeted Colin's dog. He could do dogs, dogs were fine. Clifford the snake, who belonged to Hannah, was a bit much for him long term, and he was pretty sure Hannah was going to discover her snake petrified overnight in a full body bind. Dogs were fascinating, with their routines, just like their owners.

"Thanks for this, Colin." He told his best friend sincerely. "And if you can't stand me living here, I'll move on. But, you won't even notice I'm here I reckon." His eyes took a sweep of the room.

"You've moved stuff around? Was that intentional?" Johann gestured quizzically to the sofa and other items of furniture which he had observed to be different to last time he visited. As he did, he stood on one of Moxie's squeaky toys and it went off with an exciting whizz, the dog scampering towards him with heavy paws, thinking he was going to play. As she canoned into Johann's leg as part of her fun, he stumbled over a little clumsily, making another sweep of the floor with his eyes to clock any other toys that might make any other noise.

Colin closed the door after Johann entered, stuffing one hand into a pocket even as he smirked at Moxie's rather spirited attempts to bowl Johann over. The toy (in this case, a rather comically colored caterpillar) wasn't helping the dog calm down in the slightest. Colin picked it up and tossed it across the apartment into the safe room on the far side, which earned them a short reprieve from her energetic hops. She took off after it, and soon the only sounds from her were the defeated squeaks of a toy being determinedly gnawed.

"No worries," he told Johann, clapping a hand on the skinnier man's shoulder. "Besides, I don't spend much time here, anyway. You can do...whatever it is you do in your spare time...in peace." Colin had a feeling he'd have to make room for more bookshelves and paste "Wand + Tv = :(" signs all over the place for a bit, but the prospect of not having to sit around alone made it worth it.

Besides, Johann wasn't that stupid. Sleeping potion issues aside.

"Yeah, well, I didn't know what you were bringing," he said, brushing a few other toys out of the way with his foot. "Though I hope your brought your own bed, because I'e just got...that." He gestured at the mattress-couch. "And no, my dog bed doesn't count. Hardwood floors are nasty on the back, and seeing how bony you are, I don't want scrapes on my floor from your shoulderblades."
