Seeing that they were making their way toward the hotel now, Alvis hiked his backpack up on his shoulders and jogged to keep up with Professor Trishna's luggage trolley. There was a suitcase about to tip off the back, just out of Cyhirae's reach. "I've got it!"

It took a clumsy sort of dive, but he managed to push the suitcase back into place and, remarkably, did not end up face-down in the sand for his trouble. He grinned, stupidly proud of himself for the feat, and fell into step alongside the trolley, helping to keep the luggage on-board as best he could.

This stretch of beach really was a lovely one, for what he knew of beaches. The sun was shining, there were lovely buildings stretching into the distance, and it was just hot enough that the breeze off the sea felt refreshing rather than overly damp. Out of habit, he glanced up at the bright blue sky and how different the stars would look from this angle, so far from home. He knew they probably wouldn't get the chance to see while they were in the city - too many lights - but maybe he'd get lucky on one of the sight-seeing days.

Oh...the night sky out in the middle of the desert, kilometers from civilization, no candles or light bulbs, just stars forever....

"Brilliant," he muttered, and didn't really realize he'd said the word outloud.

Baxter watched as some of the other students headed for the water- rolling his eyes when they immediately disobeyed orders, diving head first into the water, watching as Naomi pulled out a huge crab. That was dangerous and irresponsible- especially since it was a blatant disregard of directions. Baxter could not imagine being one of the students with the audacity to disobey the professors or other adults in charge- he had been raised better than that, and always followed the rules- which had never steered him wrong.

The group started heading toward the hotel, and Baxter followed- frowning at the thought of choosing roomates and getting settled in. He didn't exactly have friends in his year or in the years above him, and he wasn't sure where he would end up sleeping. Baxter couldn't imagine being stuck with mischievous Gryffindors or idiotic Hufflepuffs. He had a feeling, though, that he would end up getting whoever the odd man out was- because nobody was going to volunteer to room with him. If this was an academic pursuit, they would, in the hopes he would get them a good grade- but since this was a trip for pleasure, it was never going to happen. Maybe he could get lucky and have a room to himself. Really, Baxter should have talked his dad into coming along- then it wouldn't be an issue.

Baxter hoped that his dad was right and that the trip would do him so good. It would be a little... disappointing if he spent the whole trip socializing with the professors because he couldn't fit in anywhere else. (Not that it would surprise him if that happened- and he likely wouldn't complain, either. It helped that Tapendra was a family friend.)

Isaac smirked a bit at the Divination professor’s comments.  As far as he was concerned he was just there to help maintain order.  This trip would bring to an end his time as Hogwarts professor.  There was part of him that would dearly miss the school, its staff, and the students, but he was ready to move on to the next chapter of his life.  He too still had a healthy sense of adventure, and it was time for something new.

"I'm much more concerned about hormones."

“Yes…This isn’t my first student outing,” he said, remembering the time spent with his class in the Amazon.  “Where there is an excess of teenage hormones, there is drama.  And sometimes those in charge are also guilty of creating a bit extra and somewhat unnecessary excitement as well.”  Two former professors had seen to that while he had been in the middle of the jungle with a large group of students.

Following the cart and the hoard of students, he helped guide the group up the beach towards the hotel.  It was quite a way to bring to a close his time as a teacher.  The end of the trip would be, of course, bitter sweet, but there was still time to enjoy the next month without dwelling too much.
