Seeing that they were making their way toward the hotel now, Alvis hiked his backpack up on his shoulders and jogged to keep up with Professor Trishna's luggage trolley. There was a suitcase about to tip off the back, just out of Cyhirae's reach. "I've got it!"
It took a clumsy sort of dive, but he managed to push the suitcase back into place and, remarkably, did not end up face-down in the sand for his trouble. He grinned, stupidly proud of himself for the feat, and fell into step alongside the trolley, helping to keep the luggage on-board as best he could.
This stretch of beach really was a lovely one, for what he knew of beaches. The sun was shining, there were lovely buildings stretching into the distance, and it was just hot enough that the breeze off the sea felt refreshing rather than overly damp. Out of habit, he glanced up at the bright blue sky and how different the stars would look from this angle, so far from home. He knew they probably wouldn't get the chance to see while they were in the city - too many lights - but maybe he'd get lucky on one of the sight-seeing days.
Oh...the night sky out in the middle of the desert, kilometers from civilization, no candles or light bulbs, just stars forever....
"Brilliant," he muttered, and didn't really realize he'd said the word outloud.
