Only Slytherins could turn their house point gain into a fight, and they're lucky it was Professor Ó Móráin, a former Slytherin, who stopped them from causing more damage! Who else but a Slytherin would cross Landis and Juliette, or attempt to mar Waker Nolan's reputation with incriminating photos? The Slytherin queen bees discuss these incidents and more as they wait on tenterhooks for Maeve Whitman to decide who will take her place when she graduates. Life is calmer in the Slytherin common room, though there's still the mystery of the slimy, ruined tie!Ravenclaws head to the Room of Requirement for adventure, with other students (lots of firsties!) in tow. They also throw a party for the return of Sasha Schlagenweit, which goes off with a bang and the explosion of carrot cake! As for the Gryffindors, Sophie celebrates her sweet sixteen with close friends, and Quinn confesses feelings for that heartbreaker George Carter!Prefects catch Hufflepuff Figaro Sellaphix dousing a fire in his own special way, and seem at a loss for what to do with him, while History of Magic Professor Hildegarde Austerlitz catches Brett and Dax rolling around in the kitchens, and knows exactly what punishment to give them! The younger Hufflepuffs are the most angelic of the lot, with Pax and Mary Beth chatting in the common room, and Winnie Oliver practicing spells! After a very eventful and bloody (literally!) match, Hufflepuff loses to Slytherin, and no one is too surprised. Fauna and Dion hold the last SAWS meeting of the year in the hospital hut, where more students than expected attend, and one listens outside the window. The Wizarding WorldThe Ministry of Magic encounters many changes this month, one in the form of the new Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Cameron Rosier! His arrival sparks intense reactions, causing Eddie Pratt to turn in his badge (though he may change his mind later), and Jonas Trevelyan to offer Rosier some advice. Rosier also gets a warm welcome from Cináed Tawse, and lands in St. Mungo's as a result! On the ninth floor of the Ministry, Colin Downer introduces Una Sophia to the Department of Mysteries, where she soon gets to work on uncovering an alchemical cure for werewolves. She consults with Healers Vivienne Thorpe and Delilah Foley, among others.Dugan MacDuff is still at large, and his owls incite panic in everyone from the Aurors to the hapless Daily Prophet reporters! At St. Mungo's, Bagnold recovers from MacDuff's attack with his usual good cheer (ha), Aurors Faust and Cavanaugh attempt to decode MacDuff's warnings, and several Ministry employees discuss how to bring MacDuff down once and for all.The Ministry isn't the only one scheming. Landis Morgan tries to convince Dazmond that they need to get rid of crime lord Kronos Malvivicus, who has caused much strife among the criminal underworld. Someone in the runespoor smuggling ring sends the Reid sisters a very blatant message as Trevor Reid's trial commences. This was just a week or two after Azorma Hyskos received a life sentence in Azkaban, due to the hard work of Aurors Eleor and Trevelyan (and one reluctant son). The Aurors may also have won a victory in the questioning of Liadon Ó Móráin, whose dress-shopping and connections won't save her now!Absit Omen NewsSign-ups and the Wiki:We have moved Alumni Records/Generations and Absit Omen Families/Adoptions to the wiki!
