Aurora's Response:
Eric must have sent this copy, she thought as she untied the parchment from her Snowy Owl, Leophold's talon. Taking a deep breath, she unraveled the Daily Prophet and read quietly. The last sentence hit her like a hurricane. Vampires? What do vampires have to do with anything? Aurora was thoroughly confused. She had never, in all these eight years, suspected vampires to be involved with her mother's death. Did Eric know about this? Or was he in the dark as much as I was? she wondered curiously, biting her bottom lip as she read and reread the article, as if expecting it to change into something that made sense.
She sat there, immobile and unblinking for a long moment before rolling up the parchment, stuffing it into her bag and saying her goodbyes to Leophold. As he hooted cheerily and nipped her finger affectionately, Aurora looked pointedly across the Hall, hoping to catch Vulpes's attention. After her owl flew away, the movement caught his eye, and Aurora took that opportunity to signal him to go into the Courtyard. Aurora really wanted to talk about this, and only one person came to mind in her time of need. Maybe he can make sense of this, she thought as she got up from Gryffindor table and headed to the doors.
