Physical Description: Anna has dark brown hair down to her shoulders, best described as bushy. She typically keeps it in a ponytail or other hairdo to manage it. She has brown eyes which she wears glasses over, and has a sprinkling of freckles all over.
Anna is quite short, at only 5'2", and she is curvy, but not overweight. She has fairly pale skin, but dark enough to indicate French heritage somewhere in her blood.
Personality Description: Anna is an excellent listener; she is there when her friends need her. She is pro-active. She gets her work done on time and takes matters into her own hands. She's a musician, with a knack for singing. She is a true astronomer, and knows all of the constellations Anna has a vivid imagination and carries whole stories in her head.
Anna is quick to judge people and compare herself with others. She lacks patience and wants most things now rather than later. She's not very athletic. She fights constantly with her brother Gabriel. Anna second guesses herself frequently and allows fear to get in the way
History: Anna Jenkins was born on June 20th, 1987 in Vancouver, Washington. She grew up outside of the city, with her mother and father and her younger brother Gabriel. Although Anna always had dreams of being something more, she had never imagined something as major as finding out she was a witch.
She attended muggle elementary school until she was 1o, when she began basic courses at The Northwest Witches Academy. She studied at the school until May of 2006 when she graduated from Year 11. While she did not play Quidditch herself, she enjoyed watching the games.
As a young student, Anna thrived in school. Although extremely quiet at this age, Anna was an intelligent girl and loved learning. She devoured books and enjoyed singing for anyone who would listen. She got along well with most children her age until she hit her teens. She hit puberty fully at 13, and gained a fair amount of weight. This made Anna self conscious and nervous, and she frequently would isolate herself from other students. School also became more rigorous and Anna was no longer such a fan of school.
When she was 15, Anna learned that her former best friend William had been abusing her younger brother Gabriel for several years. While nothing life threatening nor sexual occurred, William did punch and hit Gabriel on many occasions. He also manipulated and blackmailed Gabriel into stealing things for him and taking the blame for things Gabriel had not done. This was a huge betrayal to Anna and her family, and it shook her to her core. William was never punished for his actions as he was a muggle and therefore tried under muggle laws. What William did created fear and anger in Anna, and she disconnected completely from other people for over a year. It was around this time that Anna discovered a hurt deer on the island. She nursed it back to health, and over the next few years took care of several more animals, without ever telling her school. These animals were what got her through the aftermath of William.
Although she loved those animals dearly, Anna's preferences developed to spells and the damage they could do. During her final year she studied them in depth and then continued on to work as an apprentice for a Native American wizard on the mainland of Canada.
Anna loved the Pacific Northwest, but she had always longed to live in the United Kingdom, and to work at St. Mungo's. After Remembering Day 2008, Anna decided that the UK needed her more than the U.S. and she applied for the Healer-In-Training on the 4th floor at St. Mungo's.
Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Anna's job is to assist in the healing of patients affected by spells.
Elaborate on your expertise in your field: She focused on healing during her last few years of school and then studied with a skilled healer in B.C., Canada.
Writing Sample: Anna Jenkins folded the paper back in two and tossed it aside, shaking her head. Yet another case of a wizard losing his magic had cropped up, and reporters had jumped on it like vultures. She hadn't read American papers in quite some time, but now she wished had been. Had this...curse, or whatever it was, spread to the US and Canada? Anna's parents wouldn't be affected of course, but her brother Gabriel was a wizard, and every bit susceptible to suddenly losing his magic.
While Anna didn't exactly get along with her brother, she still cared about him. She flicked her wand, making the words: Floo call Gabe, appear on her schedule. Then she grimaced, realizing that Gabriel would at school already, at Red Rocks in Arizona, and at this time of year he would have no time to talk. Anna waved her wand again and the words dissapeared. She'd have to phone her parents later and talk with them.
Putting the newspaper in a drawer next to the silverware, Anna then took a sip of her black tea, frowned at it and with another flick of her wand there was coffee in her cup. Despite living in the UK for almost a year, she still hadn't taken a liking to tea. Anna supposed you couldn't taken the American out of her completely.
Sum up your character in one paragraph: Anna is a healer in training at St. Mungo's. She is an introverted young woman who has a hard time making friends, but is intelligent and compassionate. While she misses the Pacific Northwest, she wants to make her life successful and happy in London.
