Kale is big on Potions/alchemy, so they might know each other through St. Mungos. He also has scars from the werewolf attack a couple years ago, so he could totally understand and respect her shyness about her arms.
I also got Sid Dervish, my MoM magical maintenance man. He is pretty awkward himself, so it would be a trifecta of dorkiness if they were friends.
Kia, Kale's sister, also works at the ministry, but she is quite unsocial herself, so I am not sure if they would have met.
