DISTINGUISHING FEATURE: His enormous jaw and non-existent eyebrows.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION:Being 5’11 and weighing 225 lbs. could have its advantages especially when dealing with younger years. However, because of Simon’s inherited jaw, a lot of people tend to make fun of him. Most of the time, he brushes it off thinking that they’re simply making fun of him because they like him but in reality they genuinely make fun of him because of his weird facial structure and hardly existing eyebrows. Although his lanky figure gives off the impression that he doesn’t do any kind of sport, he actually has quite muscular arms because he swims a lot. His fashion however is a completely different matter. Simon’s fashion would be considered smart casual, in the summer, he wears his white shirt nicely with a few buttons unbuttoned along with dark brown trousers and a nice belt because his trousers tend to fall slightly due to his lack of fat on his waist. During the winter, spring and autumn, he regularly wears black trousers with black high converse along with a random coloured shirt. This is because ever since he was younger he saw his father wear a nice, patterned shirt and saw how amazing it look on him that from that day on, he always wanted to wear a shirt with a nice pair of trousers whenever he got the chance! Although, like anyone, during his lazy days, he’d just shove on some pair of jeans (doesn’t matter what color/ whatever he can find really) along with a random t-shirt with a very warm sweater that proudly flaunts his House insignia.
Personality Description: LIKES: -Honeydukes – Simon loved Honeydukes ever since he first arrived to Hogsmeade in his third year. It wasn’t only the endless amounts of sweets that attracted him but also because the shop had the same word of his last name. From then on, Simon continued to tell others that his family have cousins that work in Honeydukes and that is why he has more or less the same name.
-Butterbeer – Ever since Simon had his first butterbeer, he had the most random cravings for it! He couldn’t get over the fact that it had this bitter taste was different from most drinks he regularly had.
-The color Dark blue – The reason Simon has grown to love this color so much is because it constantly reminds him of the night sky and how much he aspires to be up there along with the stars. Although, Simon probably never will be able to travel as far as the moon, he still likes to hold on to the dream that one day he will eventually reach the stars.
-Reading – In his first year at Hogwarts, Simon’s father used to always send him lists of books that he needed to read. At first Simon struggled with time because he was always running around doing other important things which left reading till the end but eventually when he picked up his first Astronomy book that very summer, he never has stopped reading.
-Swimming – While most Wizards and Witches are focused on the incredible game, Quidditch, Simon is swimming lengths in the boggy water of the Black lake or back at his home walking straight to a community swimming pool. Ever since Simon was younger, his mother encouraged him to take up a sport and instead of doing ones that completely rip your bones and muscles apart, Simon decided to focus more on agility and strength on swimming rather than anything else.
-Sneaking out – Simon has always had a habit of sneaking out at night. This is because the regular routine could really tire him out and instead of sleeping back in his dormitory, he would prefer to spend it in the Astronomy Tower observing the magnificent stars as a way of clearing his head.
DISLIKES: -Being called names – When he was back in elementary school, all of the children would constantly call him names because of the way he looked. Simon never liked it and never will. To him, where someone comes from shouldn’t matter let alone the way they grew up. He thinks that people should learn to accept each other for who they are instead of being blinded by appearances.
-Spoiled people – Because Simon has a middle class family, he was able to experience the wide range of people living around his neighborhood. He used to have an old friend who he’d known ever since he was five but eventually that girl turned sour and bitter because she couldn’t have what she wanted and eventually Simon just lost contact with her because of their conflicting personalities.
-Being disrespectful – Simon’s parents taught him to never speak to an adult in a rude manner and although he may snap at his parents on occasions… he absolutely despises how people disrespect Professors within his school.
-Animals – Simon has always had a fear of animals, whether big or small, they just generally never appealed to him because of the stories he would here of family friends or cousins being attacked by different scary creatures. To this day, Simon would most likely never take up Care of Magical Creatures because of this phobia of his.
-Those that are judgmental – Simon and prejudice don’t coexist with one another. He has never been quick to judge someone by what they look or what house they are in. He’s been taught to give others a chance unless they prove to be mean.
STRENGNTHS: -Determined – Simon has learnt to insist for things that matter the most to him. He has never considered the idea of giving up even when his aspiration is far beyond his reach.
-Kind hearted – Simon likes to give others a chance to prove themselves to him before judging them. Suppose, you could say that it’s his kind of initiation towards other people.
-Happy-go-lucky – Simon has learnt that worrying about the future won’t get him anywhere in the present. So, he tries his best to take advantage of the present without a care of what’s about to happen next.
-Fiercely loyal – Once someone has proven themselves to Simon, it’d be very difficult to get rid of him as a friend. He’s so loyal that he’d be willing to do anything for his friends even if it’s something bad.
-A good listener – Simon always enjoyed helping others even if it meant just listening to them and not getting involved in their problem. He’ll always be that shoulder to cry on.
WEAKNESS: -A Push over – Because he’s learnt to be so kind to others, Simon has brought the good and the bad friends in, unable to tell one from the other, so if they’re ever in need of his help, he’d help them unsure whether his actions are good or bad.
-Cruel –His cruelty to others could almost always get the best of him whenever he’s not in the best of moods especially when others choose to be mean to him.
-Spontaneous – Almost always, his spontaneity could drag him into the worst scenarios. This is because he always acts on his actions without even considering the consequences.
-Timid – Simon’s shyness almost always has the best of him and because of it, he’s been restrained from meeting other peers and he hates himself for it.
Selfless – Simon is so selfless that he doesn’t even take time to analyze his own life and see what’s wrong with him and what he should do to fix it. He would much rather help others and give other people his things rather than buy things for himself.
GOALS: Simon dreams of reaching the stars one day but if that fails he would love to work within the Muggle Artifacts Department in the Ministry of Magic.
BOGGART: A big scary, hairy werewolf.
PATRONUS (only if you are 3rd year and above):
Simon’s patronus is an Iguana and his greatest memory would be when he bought his supplies for Hogwarts with his father.
ERISED: To eventually make a great Astronomical discovery.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Simon is overall a very nice person. He’s the kind of guy who would spend time helping others rather than himself and would do whatever the cost to make them feel a part of something. This is how Simon has learnt to deal with his flaws over the years; he thinks that by helping others he could potentially fix himself. Although the happiness of others seems to be what makes him strong, he’s also very driven by the fact that he wants to accomplish something no other person has ever accomplished: to one day reach the stars. His determination and dream walk hand in hand with one another. However, his disadvantages to being this nice, means that sadly he’s easily pushed around by others and because he can’t tell the different between the good friends and the bad friends, sometimes Simon, doesn’t have a choice but to completely close himself off of both of them whenever he’s feeling pressured by both parties. Also, Simon really doesn’t know when to say ‘no’ to others because he’s either far too shy to say or do anything about it or generally feels bad for them. What makes it even worse is that his family is middle class and can’t afford to pay for Hogwarts let alone helping Simon’s friends. Furthermore, Simon’s habits most definitely don’t fit into those who are shy but because of his spontaneity, he has been able to flourish as a person and express his individuality in a way others would dream of, this is because he is able to get wrapped up into moments and be absolutely consumed by what’s happening at the moment rather than focusing in the past or future. Nonetheless, people either love him or hate, although he would much prefer the first option rather than the second. Simon fails to recognize that he can’t please everyone, even those he hates.
History: RESIDENCE: Simon’s residence in the long summers would be his Uncle’s small home all the way up in Yorkshire. His family is middle-low class and his parents are finding it particularly difficult to pay for Hogwarts school so when Simon returns for the holidays, he spends the entire time with his Uncle because both of his parents are off in a different country, working for Simon's education.
PARENTS: Steven Honeybourne – A worker within the Department of Muggle Studies for the Ministry who got promoted to Bulgaria.
Lyn Honeybourne – used to work for a small muggle tea shop in a small village near London but is now in Bulgaria.
SIBLINGS: None, his parents didn't have anytime so Simon unfortunately couldn't have a younger brother....
HISTORY: The reason why Simon was born in Cormwell instead of where his family had their original house in London is because this was when his parents started to lose their money by one of the powerful men within the Ministry of Magic. The powerful man’s name was Trevor Wellington and he was yet another pureblood who set out to ruin the lives of others within the Muggle Artifacts Department. His father and his colleagues had been targeted more than once and it wasn’t till the very evening on February 9th, 1980 that both his father, Steven, received a Howler from Mr. Wellington telling him that his family was being sued. However, on a happier note the wonderful Simon was born on midnight. Simon could remember his parents telling him that the night he was born was the worst and best day of the beginning for the rest of their lives. Steven, his pureblood father, was an honest man and always believed that he did nothing wrong to this Mr. Wellington but from what Simon’s mum, Lyn, a muggleborn told him when he was around 7 years old, that this Mr. Wellington had a huge crush on her and because she turned him down and went out with Steven instead, he held a grudge since and has never given up his pursuit to eventually have Lyn.
Simon was obviously far too young to understand all of this drama so instead of trying to pick the pieces together, he simply put things in black and white. Black: Mr. Wellington = Selfish and Dad = Honest. This had been the start of Simon’s generosity towards others and from then on believed anything his father told him although most of the time his father’s assumptions were wrong. Simon always believed that his father was the most intelligent man on earth but in reality, Steven had a bottom of the pit job within the Muggle Artifacts Department and was really struggling when it came to competing with the other Wizards. When Simon got into the age of snooping, Simon would constantly ask his father questions about his job and because his father didn’t want to hurt him or lie to him in any way. He encouraged Simon to follow his dreams and not let anyone stop him from becoming whoever he wanted to be. , he Simon adored his father for that although he still assumed his family was very wealthy. Although, in all honesty, they weren’t wealthy at all, they were a middle-low class family.
Simon’s very first elementary school crush was a family friend who lived in the village right by The Honeybourne’s. His parents would always use the Floo Powder when travelling to their home so they could stop by for some tea while Simon and his crush, Rebecca, played muggle games around her family’s splendid garden. However, as they grew older, their differences began to show, Simon was just turning eleven and Rebecca was only just ten. She was very spoiled and wanted to get the hottest guy in her school while she acted arrogantly towards Simon because she was aware that he fancies her. What made things worse was when he bought her a bouquet of beautiful white roses before he stopped by her home one day. “Ugh, those are hideous! Give me better ones!” Rebecca told him while giving a disgusted expression towards the bouquet. From then on, Simon grew to hate her until he eventually lost contact with her. That was a very important day for Simon. He swore to himself that day that he would never be like Rebecca; a selfish person who wanted more although she already had everything she wanted.
When Simon received his letter to Hogwarts, he didn’t know exactly how to react. He knew that it was a good thing to be a Wizard like his father but he didn’t know how he got to being a Wizard. In a way, he felt like when you came to becoming a Wizard, it was just a hobby you had part time so you wouldn’t get distracted from school or anything. He didn’t have the slightest clue and his father couldn’t help but laugh at the poor innocent boy. “You have a lot to learn, son,” His father told him cheerfully while stroking him gently on the head. From then on, Simon got all of his necessary materials from Diagon Alley with his dad. Although, they were all secondhand books and robes, Simon couldn’t have been happier! He was finally spending time with his dad! However, this wouldn’t last very long… once Simon had finished his first year at Hogwarts, instead of his parents being there to pick him up, his Uncle Colin was there. That very day as Simon and his Uncle Colin (from his father’s side) were on their way to his small home, he told him how sad he felt at the fact that his parents had to leave without saying goodbye to Simon. His Uncle went on to say that his parents had to move away for some time because his father, Steven, had received a great raise with a starting salary somewhere in Bulgaria. Simon was devastated when he heard this and only wished to be back with his mom and dad in their nice, cozy home. As soon as Simon started crying, his Uncle Colin gave him an awkward pat on the back and handed him a letter which his parents wrote to him. The letter said this:
Dearest Simon,
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU’VE FINISHED YOUR FIRST YEAR OF HOGWARTS! YAYYY!
You know we’re very proud of you, Simon! Unfortunately, your mother and I had to leave for the time being because we can’t afford to pay for your new school. Don’t worry, we will come back soon, son, not to worry!
Lots of love,
Mum and Dad xoxoxo
Throughout his entire five years of school, Simon received constant letters of how his mother and father were doing but all Simon really wanted was to be back with his parents. He still not sure when they’ll come back for him or even bother trying to see him at least. Even though, Simon is still bitter about his parents leaving him behind with his Uncle Colin, he has never stopped to love his parents and if anything is very grateful for having an incredible tolerable Uncle to take him under his wing and treat him as if he were his child. Simon at first started Hogwarts like any ordinary wizard boy would: scared and amazed. Although he was friendly to his peers, they always Simon was a bit off with how he acted with everyone. This is because he would always try and help them even when they didn’t ask for help. As the years progressed for Simon, he started to get picked on for this friendly trait of his. One day, Simon had grew tired of the nasty comments that he completely closed himself off to all of his peers and refused to be kind to anyone. Now, near the end of his fifth year, Simon has started to learn the difference between good and bad people. However, this is the only thing he really knows. He hasn’t had a chance to experience those who are deceitful and generally unkind.
How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Simon is fiercely loyal once trusted and is always more than willing to befriend someone, no matter their background. Not only that but he always believes in giving someone a second chance, this is because he hopes to be treated the same in return. However, most of the time, things don't turn out that way. Furthermore, Simon will always be there for a friend and is always willing to listen to their problems and would honestly focus more on what's going on in their lives rather than his own.
Writing Sample: Ever since Simon grew up, he’d always love to get up in the mornings. He always thought that if you never got up in the morning, you’d always missed the best part of the day. This is because there was always fantastic breakfast available and because he never missed the opportunity to help any sleepy teachers and students. Simon shot up from his bed and leaned back, staring at all of the sleeping Hufflepuff boys. A sigh passed his lips as he threw the covers away from him. He sat up on his bed, shoving on his grey short socks. He then tiptoed over to his trunk, opened it with an irritating squeak. He cringed when he heard the irritating noise and put his finger up to his lips, “Shhh!” He whispered to it, hoping that the noise would magically stop. However, this assumption would inevitably come to an end. Simon threw all of his school uniform on his bed and quietly shut his trunk again. Although he could hear his roommates tossing and turning around their beds, Simon decided to quickly put on his clothes, hoping that whatever he did wouldn’t wake them up.
However, just as he was putting on his school shoes while standing up, Simon inevitably lost his balance and fell on his bed, making yet another unavoidable squeak. Groans came from his roommates and without another hesitation; Simon removed himself from the dormitory, slamming the door behind him. He cringed when he heard his friends yell from the other side of the door. A sigh passed his lips as he readjusted his tie and walked down to the Common Room. He waved at a younger student who had been reading and was ignored. However, Simon didn’t let him put this down so he continued out of the Common Room with a big smile on his face. Immediately he ran into several students making their way over to the Great hall. “WOW!” He yelled as he jumped back slightly, looking left to right. The other students ignored him and continued on with their conversations as normal, one on occasion giving him a nasty glare. Simon hesitated a bit before making his way past the crowd, hoping they wouldn’t drag him along with them. “Sorry,” He’d say every once and while when he’d step on someone. As soon as he got across the corridor, he found a portrait of an old man behind him, snoring so loudly that he could’ve sworn that he’d been fighting with someone in his sleep.
Simon was always curious as to how many talking portraits ended up in Hogwarts… Was it because no one else was willing to take them? Simon hadn’t been offended by them in any way but he’d had several experiences with some near the Charms classroom and from what he could recall they weren’t particularly friendly…
Simon folded his arms across his chest and allowed a sigh to pass his lips. Suddenly, the portrait behind him had burst with life! “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, BOY, WAKING ME UP LIKE THAT!?” yelled the portrait at Simon. Simon quickly turned around and stared up at the daunting portrait. He gulped and allowed a nervous chuckle pass his lips. “Well, you see-“but before Simon had the chance to reply the portrait interrupted him, “NOW, LISTEN HERE! I DO NOT LIKE TO BE WOKEN UP! SO GO AND LET ME SLEEP!” The portrait continued as he shooed Simon. With that, Simon continued down the corridor with his hands shoved his in pockets. Everyone was always so grumpy in the mornings and Simon simply couldn’t come to terms with why everyone had been like that.
A sigh passed his lips as he continued to think aimlessly about his question. However, he quickly stopped when he saw a younger student dismembering a walking armor. “HEY! YOU! STOP!” Simon yelled at the boy as he ran towards him. The boy noticed that he was being yelled at and immediately stopped what he was doing. Simon ran to the boy but before he could catch him, he had run off. Why do people bother causing trouble!? Simon thought frustratingly at himself as he stared at the collapsed armor. Luckily, it had still been moving because if it hadn’t, Simon would most definitely chase after that annoying boy!
Sum up your character in one paragraph: Simon's a happy-go-lucky fellow who's always willing to sacrifice himself for anyone! Because of this, he can't tell the difference between his good friends and bad. Also, Simon is always willing to help a friend out and be that very listener that they may need in their time of trouble. Simon's ultimate dream is to be able to reach the stars and see what lies farther than planet Earth. This is why he's always had a keen interest in Astronomy. Furthermore, once befriended, Simon will stuck with you until the very end. This is because he's fiercely loyal and very driven. He's also kind hearted and likes to see the good in others.
