This was the worst day so far. First MacDuff’s threats, then Pratt, Trevelyan and Eleor barging into his office and demanding action to be taken despite refusing to accept authority. But Rosier was patient; instead of further initiating arguments with his staff, he came up with a finer approach. Aurors were hard to keep in line, so instead of playing their game, Rosier was ready to set up some new rules.
He knew of Stilicho, a Senior Auror who almost seemed like an outcast among all the others. An older, seemingly less temperamental man with an impressive record. Rosier didn’t know him personally yet, but he hoped they will be able to work together without much conflict. He needed someone serious and reliable to maybe ‘keep an eye’ on Raynor’s dream team.
It was getting late and the things slowly started settling down after what happened earlier today. Level Two almost felt deserted, but Rosier preferred it that way. He liked the quiet solitude of his grand office now, it was almost therapeutic. However, the posh office was in a slightly messy state at the moment – papers and parchments were scattered everywhere, books were carelessly tossed away from the desk (as if someone pushed them off in rage) and all that was covered in ashes. But cleaning the mess was the last thing on Rosier’s mind at the moment…this was a creative mess of sorts and he felt comfortable in it.
Before Stilicho decides to show up, Rosier would dig through his secretary’s desk and look for schedules she made for him and then amend them. However, when he reached for his door, at the same moment he heard a faint knock. He opened them instantaneously, finding himself face-to-face with a skinny wizard.
“Ah, Stilicho,” he said in an almost cheerful manner, despite his foul mood. Not bothering to excuse his messy office to the man, he gestured towards an empty chair next to his cluttered desk. “Sit down. I’m Rosier – as you already know…” Just formalities, if that introduction counted as formal…”I need a word with you. I trust we can agree that everything we speak of in this office will stay confidential.”
