[May 1] Hello, Again (PM) on July 23, 2011, 11:05:17 PM There was no point in unpacking too much. In the next few days, his housemates might agree to letting Baldur stay in the dorms with him and he'd be able to move back to his dorm room. He had very mixed feelings about that prospect. It was strange and awkward to be isolated from the students like they all saw him as some suspicious character but it was better than sitting in the middle of a room while his housemates stared at him suspiciously. He still didn't know what type of reception to expect. And, he wasn't exactly in a hurry to find out. Unpacking his books, though, was a must. There could be no delay in getting back into his studies. With the help of his tutors, he was able to keep up in most of his subjects but OWLs were looming closer than ever. He was going to have to devote as much time to his studies as possible if he was going to achieve as many "O"s as possible. Consequentially, it was his school supplies he unpacked first. The room in the hospital hut was, obviously, intended for convalescing and not studying and the desk was far from adequate. With his books stacked in the corner of the desk, there wasn't really a lot of room to spread out. This alone might prove motivation enough to return to Ravenclaw tower. The importance of adequate study space was something Rowena Ravenclaw seemed to understand. Sasha had just filled his arm with a stack of books from the box when Baldur hopped down from the bed and trotted towards the door, his tail wagging eagerly. Given the dog's excitement, he already knew who was behind the door and that it was a friend. "It's open," Sasha called just before whoever was behind the door knocked. His attempting to open the door with his hands in their current state of burden would prove treacherous for his toes. "I - I'm sorry. Watch out. There is a dog in here." Given the school's reluctance to have them on campus, it seemed prudent to warn the visitor. He quickly began to deposit the books from his arms to the desk so he could greet the visitor properly. There had been a time (not too long ago, actually) when he'd have been too afraid to venture anywhere near this close to the canine, but the winter and spring holidays had gone a long way in putting him at ease with the dog. He still wasn't over eager to meet any others (particularly not ones that large), but Baldur, he'd decided, was all right."Can't even stop unpacking your books to say hello?" He lifted his eyebrows, crossing his arms and leaning against the door frame, unable to keep the wide grin off of his face any longer. "Tsk, tsk, and here I thought absence was supposed to make the heart grow fonder. If you're busy, I could go...?" He paused in what he was doing, half of the stack of books still in his hands, as he looked towards the Slytherin. There was a strange, unmistakable flutter in his middle and, as the warmth rose in his cheeks, he quickly turned back to the desk to unburden his hands. "I - no. I'm sorry. I just have to ... " He didn't know why he had become flustered. There were very few who Sasha was as comfortable around as the young man standing in the door and Sasha was very keenly aware of how glad he was to see Ferguson. He just wasn't entirely sure what to do with that feeling. And suddenly, it became quite important to free his hands. "I'm not busy. I was just ... that can wait." His hands finally free, he looked back up at Fergie and the color deepened in his cheeks. "Hello," he offered, quietly. "I - come in. It's - they let me back," he finally concluded, resolving his uncertainty of what to say by stating the obvious. On the list of things he'd missed about Sasha, the way the other boy was so easily flustered and tended to stumble over his words like they were unexpected obstacles placed on a path was definitely near the top of the list. It was something he'd always found as amusing as it was endearing (and, occasionally, frustrating). He pushed off from the doorway and stepped into the room, leaning up on his toes to press his lips to Sasha's in a careful kiss. This part of their relationship had still been very new (almost everything had been very new, in fact) when Sasha had been sent from school, and although spring break had gone a ways in allowing them to get used to it, he wasn't used to it enough that it had stopped sending butterflies tumbling around his stomach. "Hi," he finally gave the Ravenclaw a proper greeting as he stepped back, reaching for Sasha's hand and tangling their fingers together. "I'm glad you're back. I've missed you." They'd exchanged letters throughout Sasha's absence, but letters weren't quite the same as him being here. Fergie preferred to keep those closest to him within hugging distance, and Scotland to outside London was just a bit too far. Particularly when he didn't have his apparition license yet. "Want some help unpacking?" Everything beyond the kiss seemed to fade into the background, enough so that he was surprised to find his hand had settled gently on Ferguson's waist to pull the young man slightly towards him. Despite the inevitable blush that rose in Sasha's cheeks, he grinned broadly as Fergie pulled back, his gaze dropping briefly to their interlaced hands. "I've missed you, too." He still wasn't quite sure how glad he was to be back. This moment had been the easy part and what had given him the strongest motivation to come back. Without Ferguson and even just the support of knowing the other boy was here, Sasha very likely would have remained in London. He still hadn't accepted or dealt with what that meant in the bigger picture but, for now, that wasn't even important. He nodded, confirming he'd missed Fergie as well, but rather than verbalizing that, he gently pulled the Slytherin into a hug. "I- ja, sure. If you want," Sasha agreed when he turned towards his bags. "I'm not unpacking all of it. Just those two bags." He pointed towards the bag of books and a small duffle that held a handful of new school robes. "Professor Trishna's going to be speaking to all of the Ravenclaws to see if anyone, you know, would object to him." He nodded his head in the shepherd's direction. Having satisfied his need to greet the newcomer and grown bored with the display of pleasantries between, Baldur had hopped back up on the bed and was gazing out the window at the lake, his ears flickering forward then back every time a long tentacle splashed above the surface of the water. "So, has anyone been saying anything about us?" They'd just made their relationship public (well, Eirene had really done the most to announce their atypical relationship to the entire school) and Sasha had had three months to ponder what the reaction had been. "Eirene seems to have, you know, stopped hating me." Fauna, on the other hand - they had somehow become sworn arch-enemies. Luckily, Sasha hadn't run into her at the Ministry during the last full moon. Had Ferguson heard about that, yet? Or Sasha spending the night at Professor Trishna's residence? Sasha had meant to tell him over the holidays but the right time had never really presented itself. He wasn't even sure what the right time to tell someone they'd been mauled by a werewolf would look like. Sasha cast a curious glance in Ferguson's direction that, obviously, since he wasn't a legilimens he was probably oblivious to its meaning. Skip to next post
